We had a very bad experience on the Sunday before Memorial Day 2024 as we were rushed out of the restaurant even though we were eating and enjoying our meal at a “typical” dinning pace. Therefore, this review is strictly based on the fact that we were rushed out of the restaurant and not even offered dessert or coffee because it was 9:35 PM and “past the restaurant’s closing time of 9 PM.”
I’ve been eating at fine restaurants for over 25 years and I have never encountered such a policy. We were a party of 4 with an 8 PM reservation and we didn’t sit down to 815 PM because we got stuck at the drawbridge on PGA Blvd. After sitting down, we ordered a round of drinks, appetizers, our main dish, and a bottle of wine for the table. With all that ordering, we were never once informed we were on a “timer” because the kitchen “closes at 9PM” (as we were told later). The first odd thing was at 9:15 PM, one of the bus servants came to our table and asked if we wanted take home bags for the leftovers. We politely said no as we were still eating and thought she was just confused. However, when we were all done with our dinners 20 minutes later, the waiter came to our table and placed the check down saying “Thank you for dining with us tonight.” We asked what about coffee and dessert and were informed that the kitchen closed at 9 PM. Our response was that may be so but we had an 8 PM reservation and, even though we sat down at 815 PM, don’t most restaurants time at least 1.5 hours for a dinner seating? At that point, the waiter awkwardly brought over dessert menus but the damage and bad taste were already done. And we still weren’t offered coffee or an after dinner drink. So we paid our tab of $500 (before tip) and left with a very weird ending to our meal and one that we felt was in extremely bad taste by the restaurant.
My advice to management would be to tell and train your staff that, as a “fine dining” establishment, the restaurant should give each table a minimum of 1.5 hours to enjoy their meal which includes coffee and dessert. Or if you will be closing at a “specific time” no matter what, both the hostess and waitstaff should inform the guest. Or, better yet, the last reservation should be taken 1.5 hours before the kitchen closes. In my opinion, I feel the waitstaff, hostess, and management all let us down with this ridiculous policy and ruined what would have been a very...
Read moreMy family and I made reservations for 10 guests at Limoncello Restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. When an out-of-town relative surprised us with their visit, we politely asked to update our party size to 11. However, the manager Anthony bluntly refused, saying either the group splits up with 10 at one table and 1 alone at the bar or no modifications allowed. Stunned at excluding a family member, I explained we expected accommodation to seat our whole party together. Anthony still refused, forcing us to cancel and forfeit our deposit over his indifference. His response showed no effort to retain us as customers. When I asked to discuss concerns with the owner, Anthony aggressively threatened to call the police. In over 30 years as patrons, we have never encountered such hostility and apathy at addressing problems Limoncello created. Customer satisfaction is clearly unimportant. I strongly advise avoiding Limoncello unless ownership replaces Anthony for his unacceptable aggression towards valued customers. We will continue alerting others about their policies of severely limiting reasonable requests and abhorrent treatment of patrons.
The allegations that I threatened anyone at the restaurant are unequivocally untrue. When I called regarding the issue with our reservation our car was full family and children. I never made any threats whatsoever, I simply asked to speak with the owner to reasonably discuss the situation after Anthony refused to help resolve the issue. Limoncello’s response to my honest description of the events further proves my point. Clearly, the customer is NEVER right with Anthony from Limoncello. This is not a good look when your in the customer...
Read moreOctober, 2022. Our party of 4 had reservations at Limoncello Italian restaurant. They were accommodating in finding seating that we were comfortable with. This was appreciated. However, the dining experience rapidly deteriorated.
Each couple ordered the artichoke appetizer - $19.00 each. After removing the bread crumb topping and the surrounding leaves, we were left with no heart of the vegetable. It had obviously been cut off in the kitchen. Never have I seen this done at any other Italian restaurant.
After requesting 4 times of the wait staff to speak to the manager, Nora finally presented herself, She informed us that the kitchen did not cut anything off the artichoke (without a stem and bottom soft heart, I wondered how this was able to grow!!).
Nora asked, "What do you want me to do about this?" I responded, to remove this item from our checks. She refused and did not offer any alternative solution.
When our entrees arrived we asked for grated parmesan cheese. After being ignored by several of the wait staff, I went to the back serving table to obtain this myself. Rather than being asked what the problem was, the tall head server gruffly shouted for me to "NOT Touch THAT". I insisted that he immediately bring the cheese to our table before the food became cold.
Although there were many high end cars in the parking lot, The reputation of this restaurant is not deserved. There are many other choices in Palm Beach County. For the price and service at Limoncello's, I would advise readers to seek other options.
