What a night! We live in Jupiter and are embarrassed to say we have never eaten here.
An excellent experience, so much so that we are headed back for my husband’s birthday brunch today!
The restaurant temperature: rare to find the temperature in tangy restaurant not at sub zero temperatures. It was cool but, more but importantly, comfortable.
The music was indeed background music and not at all intrusive; it did not distract from conversation.
We sat a table for two that provided us a right side view of the bar, which hosted top shelf liquors that were immaculately presented and clean. The bartenders were professional and friendly, not disinterested.
LOVED the fact that this restaurant is NOT filled with televisions and sports or political shows. One lone television sits almost tucked away in the bar area, almost unnoticed.
The cocktails are almost New York expensive and worth every penny. We had the Scotch and Soda and a special Old Fashioned as well as an espresso martini with tequila with dessert. Every single sip was dare-I-say magical. I am obsessed with glassware (the menu should mention the glassware used for each cocktail), and the glassware perfectly complimented each drink.
Kristen was our server: what a gem—-professional, spoke with personal knowledge of each dish, made recommendations based on our preferences, check in without intruding. Lovely.
A hostess and a general manager came to check in on our experience: again—highly professional, kind, not intrusive and lovely.
The dinner: ceviche in summer only, outstanding; duck confit rolls with a peanut chutney dipping sauce that was also outstanding, and the chef accommodated our request to have crudite alongside the sourdough bread with chicken liver pate like I’ve never had before.
Desserts are rarely worth it in restaurants. I’ve stopped ordered them. We ordered sticky toffee cake and a banana dessert: you will know how desserts should be made, served and tasted at Stage. Outstanding is an understatement.
We ordered a half grilled chicken dish, which I worried about: most restaurants overdo a sauce to cover the lack of skill in cooking the meat. This is how I want chicken every day: grilled to accentuate the meat flavor with a simply and deliciously prepared butternut squash on the side. Again, absolutely outstanding.
A word about the food runners and every single member of the kitchen staff: knowledgeable, friendly, generous, working legitimately as a team, and people who seem to not only know good, but who love their work...
Read moreWhen Stage first opened, they adhered to a more typical Indian dining experience and the food was always good. We have been back a few times over the years.please read on..,,
Our most recent meal in June 2025, They have moved more to a global concept with a slight Indian core, always serving naan and chutneys. using traditional Indian spices, and tandoori prepared proteins.
We were absolutely overwhelmed at how amazing our dinner was this evening. We had the garlic naan With a few chutney, both of which were amazing, started with a duck Confit appetizer that is out of this world , and had two entrées. I had a local snapper served over, something similar to a ratatouille unlike any other, and a dollop of hollandaise sauce, it was absolutely one of the most best plates I have had in so long, my husband ordered a tandoori chicken, which sounded a little boring to me, however, they brine it over three days. It was out of this world. We finished off the meal with something called a sweet date cake with ice cream. It tasted similar to chocolate lava cake, but there is no chocolate, or the sickly richness, it was so flavorful yet light.
Normally, I can go somewhere and eat a dish once or twice and copy it, I wouldn't know where to begin, with anything we were served this evening.
Their flavors are so robust and rich and balanced nothing's over salted or too rich. The portions are perfectly sized that you can have an entrée and a few tasters. If you feel a little overwhelmed by the menu (not that it's large at all. It's a very small menu which I personally love,) but the wait staff will guide you correctly. It's reminiscent of 11 Madison in NYC, however I think it's even superior as everything is a little smaller and you get to taste more dishes. If you're looking for something that you'd never be able to make it home, this is your restaurant.
Apparently, they are up for a Michelin one star, of which they completely deserve, the very best of luck to you. Pricewise... competitive or even below some of your mundane PBG restaurants. Again fantastic staff. It is a bit loud so if you're looking for some quiet to dine, go on off...
Read moreThis is my second time visiting Stage, and I apologize for the delay in posting this review. Here's a detailed account of the entrees I tried in September 2023 and again on November 22, 2024.
Food - 10 Decor and ambiance - 10 Service -10
In September, we enjoyed two cocktails: the Black Gold Fashioned, made with Wild Turkey Longbranch, Cynar, and coffee orange saccharum, and the Oh Me Oh Mai, which consisted of Noxx & Dunn Florida rum, Wray & Nephew overproof rum, orgeat, a signature passion tropical mix, and nutmeg. The unique twist on serving the cocktail in an ivy drip bag was a fun experience, providing about three drinks from one bag.
For appetizers, we had the Spicy Tuna Bomb, featuring semolina puri with spicy soy, green goddess, and avocado, as well as the Plantain Chaat, which included yogurt, pomegranate, tamarind, mint, and crispy potato. We shared the Butter Chicken Masala with jasmine rice and truffle naan, and for dessert, we indulged in the Sticky Toffee Date Cake accompanied by ginger toffee sauce and ice cream.
On November 22, we returned to celebrate my partner's birthday. We started with the Bell & Evans Chicken Liver Pâté, which was delectable. For our main dishes, we had the Pan Roasted Local Fish with okra, heirloom tomato, and rassam hollandaise, which was my favorite. We also ordered the Fried Chicken with Malvani coconut curry and lime. While it was good, it wasn't my top choice, although I still recommend everyone try it.
Additionally, we sampled garlic naan with ricotta and honey. It was an interesting combination, but I believe the naan is excellent on its own without the additions. We also ordered a side of Basmati Rice Grits, which were simply "WOW."
To finish off our meal, we again enjoyed the Sticky Toffee Date Cake with ginger toffee sauce and ice cream, which was absolutely decadent. We had two drinks: an Oh Me Oh Mai and a Black Gold Fashioned once more.
Overall, it was another wonderful dining...
