Typically, I find an establishment that splits focus amongst food and dessert is questionable however I did find that the ice cream was quite well-done highlights seem to be friendly service along with the creativity of presentation from rolled ice cream to work of handmade milkshakes that show to be a work of art. Environment and atmosphere is clean with limited seating. Very appropriate for grabbing a treat or even bringing the family for great fun presentation. With lack of staff there is the potential of having to wait to be served. However, found that to be non-relevant during my visit for the most part. Watching someone cook a complete meal or make a warm sandwich does seem a bit odd while waiting however I would hope with more appropriate time and added staff this will not be that much of an issue in future. My recommendation would be removing the “sub” aspect and keep to the scoops to where I believe if focused appropriately would make more revenue for this small local business long term. The concept of “less is more” definitely applies here. It is a new establishment with a fresh young owner and I believed over time as the business matures the focus will narrow one way or the other by default and a local base. The thing that is questionable is the prices do exceed market value for ice cream. I understand they wish to sell presentation however I don't feel at this point this will not last long term or help establishing returnable customers for the area they are located. With lack in advertisement or marketing, not sure how the outcome long term will be. Moving the establishment to a greater populated tourist area along the coast would probably be the best benefit to maximize the profit. I wish the best for the owners and definitely recommend a visit to all. I leave Scoops & Subs with 4 Stars with...
Read moreI found them by mistake but I'm glad I did! I was immediately greeted and the amicable fellow at the register was glad to recommend something I was in the mood for. I asked for maybe something beefy--a lot of beef. What I got was his Italian Beef Sandwich. It was LOADED with meats with a savory sauce in the mix and a delicious picante gardeneira (mixed pickled vegetables with a hit of hotness). I usually don't like spicy so I had the gardeneira on the side to try--and I found myself LOVING it with this sandwich. The sandwich wasn't small, it wasn't massive either--just right for a satisfying meal! The atmosphere is cozy and small but it doesn't feel cramped. The style of the restaurant reminded me of some of my favorite small owner restaurants from back in California back in the late 1990's that I really enjoyed. I didn't have to leave the restaurant to have a nice ice cream cone for desert. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a sandwich shop also service a large batch of ice cream treats and it was great! For me, it was nice to see they had some no-sugar-added flavors too! The staff and the food were superb, they only just opened recently and I highly recommend you...
Read moreThe customer service received today by the young girl inside working alone was phenomenal. She is very kind, very respectful, very informative and had excellent customer That sadly, we don't see often anymore
However, the food hands down HORRIBLE! I'm gluten intolerant so I asked for the Italian beef to be put on nachos. I am from Chicago myself. We don't serve food that looks like this at all. The beef is not even sitting in the Au jus as it should be, they "pre prep it" then, at a sorry, attempt to reheat the beef they put it in the crockpot with the Au jus And then serve it to you. On top of my nachos, the meat was ice cold And horrific in taste and texture. If you're from Chicago, you know Italian beef looks nothing like this. It basically looks like general roast beef for a cold cut subs! I went back and paid for the chilli that's usually on the nachos to be able to eat, and if I didn't know any better, it is chilly out of a can! Gas station nachos are better than this by far! Super disappointed and absolutely a waste of money! Disgrace to the use of...
