I had an excellent experience with Ocean Jewelry and Repair. I was recently widowed and seeking custom pendants/necklaces for each of my three teenage girls to help them remember their mother. The owner of the store, Pedro, was very friendly, engaging and considerate. He listened carefully to my ideas and made every effort to bring my fuzzy, abstract concepts into perfect focus. He only made suggestions to improve upon my ideas; he never pressured me to abandon or to change my ideas. Even when i decided to change the design pretty radically, after Pedro had already put in several hours into the first design, he simply redirected his efforts into accomplishing my newest vision, without complaint. The final concept was eventually honed into three gorgeous gold and precious stone pendant tributes to my wife. My daughters opened them on Christmas and they cried with joy. I couldn’t ask for a better reaction.

Pedro was invaluable for his expertise on the precious stones, too. I was a complete amateur when I entered his shop. Now I feel educated on my stones. I have a much deeper appreciation of the factors that affect the beauty and value of gems. In addition to the wonderful personal service, Pedro was also able to compete with the much larger “drop shipment” companies on price, too.

An embarrassing mistake led me to give my fiancé the wrong ring size for my finger and my engagement ring was so big that I couldn’t wear it. On a Saturday, I brought my ring into Ocean Jewelry and I was so upset because I knew I’d have to leave it for sizing. The thought of parting with it was heartbreaking. Once I arrived and Peter looked at the ring, he explained that it was one of the most difficult settings to work with so it would probably be Monday or Tuesday before he could finish it. Hearing that made me even more sad because I was leaving to go out of town that afternoon and I knew I wouldn’t be back in town by Tuesday, which was going to make my wait even longer. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, Peter must have understood how much it meant to me to have my ring back because as I was packing the last bag into my car to leave town, my phone rang. His assistant called to tell me that he had dropped everything to just focus on my ring and he got it finished so I could swing by and pick it up if I hadn’t left town yet. As soon as I hung up the phone, tears were rolling down my face. My fiancé walked out, saw the tears, and thought that something terrible had happened. Can you spot the fake diamond????? Said he replaced a diamond in my wedding band! Liar. It wasn't until I had my nails done and my hand was under the black light. All of the original diamonds were sparkling, the one he said he replaced with a real diamond was all dark. He replaced the missing DIAMOND with a zirconia! I went to pick up my gold bracelet, where he had stated it was a lovely piece with Tri-Gold from Italy! He even showed it to his jeweler! I came a week later to pick it up and he stated he did not have it! He demanded the ticket and I told him you never requested a ticket before and I received a message from your assistant that my bracelet was ready to pick up! I caused a real fuss because this was my grandmother's! I left the store and he called the police with a restraining order! The very next morning his assistant called me to tell me they had made a terrible, terrible mistake and that they did have my bracelet! Watch out for this guy! Meanwhile, I went to a reputable real jeweler with real jewels and real diamonds. I had it replaced. All the diamonds are even and they all sparkle!
