Firstly; I work for a marketing agency- so I know what reviews mean for both companies and consumers which is why I ONLY write reviews if I’ve had a highly positive experience or an unfortunately negative one.
I went to get my mother a gift for her birthday, but was on my lunch break and needed to head back to the office for a meeting; hence, I was extremely stressed. I was greeted by De; who was absolutely lovely in every possible way. I needed to grab something quick, but couldn’t find it [stores always rearrange things during the holidays]. I was only there to buy a $30 candle, and what impressed me was that De made NO attempt to try to up-sell me or convince me to buy anything I didn’t actually need/want. What impressed me further, was that other people near me clearly looked like they were out to shop (wanting to try on clothes/walked leisurely/had expensive handbags/etc). Yet, instead of prioritizing people that seemed like they’d spend more money than me, De recognize that I arrived first and in no way cared how much money I was going to spend. She didn’t rush me, she wasn’t rude, and got me in and out of the store in 10-15 minutes.
I was actually looking at the glassware for a VERY specific wine glass (again for my mother lol) that they didn’t have. De greeted me as I was searching and instead of trying to talk me into a purchase, she moved fast because she knew I was in a hurry. Any business person that has to buy gifts during their lunch break (especially during the holidays)because their day is nothing but work/meetings, will know the value of what I’m saying. Not sure if this is an “el paseo” thing, but I HATE when sales personnel treat me poorly because I’m only making a small purchase- or ignore me because i don’t look “wealthy.”I spend GOOD money when I want something- but sometimes I simply don’t have the time to shop because my job is very demanding. THANK YOU SO MUCH DE! Because of you I wasn’t late for a meeting and my mother’s birthday was spectacular:)
P.s. Anthropologie: please hire and cherish employees like De. She is the reason people come back to your store. Trust me- I’m going back to buy a $300 gold-skirt...
Read moreI frequent Anthropologie and have been in many stores in different states. This wasn't a good experience. Customer service is not high quality and it felt as if I were a nuisance when I asked about a couple of items. I tried on several pieces, and even though two staff members were in the fitting room area, I walked out three times to get different sizes with no acknowledgement. Meanwhile, they were simply chatting it up about needing some wine. Upon leaving, I heard two ladies mentioning similar frustrations and said they would just go next door to Tommy Bahama and purchase items. Anthropologie is known for their top tier customer service. Sadly, you will not get that experience...
Read moreThe store doors were open (as in open to the street not just unlocked). My sister & I walked in and the store clerk rudely confronted us without a greeting & stated we’re closed. I mentioned I’d been looking everywhere for pants they had on display she did not offer to hold a pair or even say what time they opened the next day. I’m a loyal customer and have never been treated this poorly at any Anthropologie. Would...
