Bottom Line: I'll never go back to this restaurant again - - Ever! It's a scam to make money for the owner without concern about the customer and providing the customer with something of value for the money they spend. I don't often make this decision about a restaurant (I'm not a "Karen") but after all the experiences I had at this specific restaurant, I decided that without a change in management, I'll never return. They lost a very long time customer that now reflects on the entire company, not just this sorry place. Here's my latest story:
After a long time, I decided to go visit Popeyes again after the Covid restrictions had lessened. My mouth waters whenever Popeyes sends me their latest promotions or when I watch their commercials on TV, so I was looking forward to going back. I went at 1:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon - - not one of their most busy times but definitely not their slowest time. I only had to wait a couple of minutes for the ones ahead of me in line inside to be taken care of. I decided (actually, I had decided before I even left home) to get their 5-Piece Spicy Chicken Strips with mashed potatoes and 2 biscuits. I've had this exact order many times and always enjoy the strips with BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes, and 2 biscuits. The cashier advised me that they were cooking strips right then and asked if I would be OK with a 15 minute wait to get my food. I told her no problem because I though it would be worth it. After a short time, they called my name and I went back to the cashier to pickup my food and go back to my table. The first thing I noticed was that their "Famous Iced Tea" was no longer there. They had a new Lemonade Slushy setup and their regular fountain but no iced tea at all - - sweetened or not. I was disappointed but got a lemonade from the fountain instead. I've never been to any Popeyes before that didn't serve Iced Tea - - it's a tradition they always have had and you could get it by the cup or by the gallon. I sat back down at my table to enjoy my spicy chicken strips. I removed the two biscuits oonand top and sat them on a napkin. There was no BBQ sauce was in the box. But, I was too hungry to go back up to the counter and ask. This hasn't been the first time that they didn't fill my order correctly (see below). Usually, it's the extra biscuit, which I would definitely have gone back up to get. I then looked at my "5 chicken strips" and was surprised to see that they weren't strips at all. Rather, they were 1" to 3" pieces. I wondered how they figure out how to measure all the pieces to take the place of actual strips. Furthermore, the serving looked a little skimpy compared to the strips I received so many times before from other Popeyes restaurants. I was disappointed but decided to eat them anyway. It bothered me that out of a fresh batch of strips from the fryer, this was the best they could offer. At least that was what I thought before I started eating the strip pieces. Each one only had a miniscule amount of chicken inside. They were about 95% batter and 5% chicken. These definitely were not substantial pieces of white meat chicken and are much cheaper to serve instead of real white meat chicken strips. I mentioned my experience to friends who had eaten at this particular restaurant. They said they had the same experience compared to their past visits. I also concluded that lunchtime on a Saturday, when there would normally be a lot of customers there, everyone else had already decided to find better places to eat. Again, I will not go back to this restaurant again. Spending $13 on a substandard meal is simply...
Read moreI placed an app order and it kept shutting down. So my mom and I drove out. For her to go with me it's because she really wants it. Anticipated it. We got there and went through drive thru. While placing order the cashier said they don't have the 10pc deal I see on the app. Someone quickly corrected her. She stumbled over tge repeat if my order so I asked for her to repeat it again for clarity. It was a huge order for three households. They wouldn't allow us to split the orders in drive through and at that point we couldn't just back out of the drive thru line either. Her repeat was incorrect. So at the window I asked her to please repeat my order for accuracy. Yep still wrong can we make this correction please. Yes and she repeats order and still had it wrong. I'm absolutlely frustrated at this point and I'll take whatever she has down cause this seems like a hopeless cause. I couldn't pick up my app order in drive thru, by the way talk about a delayed conformation. It came thru as we were at the window because I had the app to show her their 10 pc deal I saw online. So I glimpse my receipt because a change that should have decreased my bill actually made it higher. I'll figure it out later we had three families to feed. I get all the way home to find that the 10pc meal for 19.99 was charged 25.99. I was upset cause that was the very order that kept getting kicked out on the app, the cashier didn't know about it and I never showed her bacause she'd messed up my order so bad at the window. I called in to have this corrected. The supervisor tells me without the coupon that is the correct price. So I proceed to explain the experience we had and adviseb we had the coupon. She just didn't care. It happened to be my moms order that she over paid for. We weren't interested in speaking to anyone else at this point. We will gladly continue to drive to Banning for Churches Chicken. Those extra two mile is a world of difference in service and quality. Now every time my mom see the commercial she frown with choice words. That was a $70 meal during hard times and all we wanted was to treat ourselves. Just a bad...
Read moreI really enjoy Popeye's product. Pretty much everything that they make that I've tried is delicious. This Popeye's location is the only one that i know of that's closest to where i live which is in Palm Springs. For me, I consider Popeye's a real treat that I've grown to look forward to because i don't have it often; only once every couple of weeks and i don't mind making the trip all the way to Palm Desert to get it. The only issue that i have with this location is centered specifically around cleanliness. I have a pretty extensive background in food services and customer service so i understand it's importance. I'm the type of person that truly appreciates a very good dining experience and i usually show my gratitude not just by giving good tips, but also by making it known directly to the waiter and the owner of the establishment just how much i enjoyed my experience. What I've observed on a few occasions at this location is that the staff is NOT CONSCIENTIOUS about the condition of the dining area. The tables and seats are always dirty with food smudges and covered with debris. It's something that is EASILY CORRECTED if people understand it's importance and how it reflects on the overall image of the business and how it puts the customers mind at ease. I had to wipe my table off myself on more than one occasion and that is something that ought not be. On my last visit there not long ago, I had to go out to my car to actually get napkins because they were completely out of napkins. I used them to wipe off the table before i decided to take the order to go while my girlfriend and i were waiting. When i was at the counter placing my order I asked the person serving me to please give me a clean cloth so i could wipe the table off myself but she didn't give me one. Instead, she decided to come out herself and wipe a table or two, but that wasn't until about 15 minutes later. Aside from that, this is a nice...
