The service is a bit strange, as they are hiding behind a plastic shield, and send your food out thru a cardboard tube they created. Though, I may not understand their reasoning for this, it's just a bit bizarre. The restaurant itself is in shambels ... Plastic sheets hanging from the ceiling, things on the floor in disarray..., just a strange, not so inviting atmosphere, hinting on the rhelm of uncleanliness. BUT ..., with that stated ..., the food was Outstanding!!! Well presented, stayed warm till I got home, they remembered all the condiments, chopsticks, napkins ..., etc. Ordered online and was ready in maybe 15 mins. If you can order online, and just ignore the surroundings as you go thru the store to pick up your food, head to your eating spot, and enjoy your food ... you will assuredly be pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the food is. I will most certainly return, and will just simply squint as I retrieve my food. I hope someday they clean up and decorate the place, so I might be able to suggest it to family and friends ..., otherwise, if I just pick it up, they won't be any the wiser. Great food, not too pricey, close to home.
PS --- I ordered the following:
Dbl tuna roll PERFECT SPICE Jalapeño "somethin" roll YUMMY, slightly deep fried Alaska roll DELICIOUS, good for those who don't care for hot & spicy Rainbow roll GOOD AS ANY BEEF, and BEEF RIBS ..., I gotta say ..., not my cup of tea. Comes with lots of PLAIN rice (obviously a Hawaii thing), and some PLAIN macaroni salad (again AHT I'm sure) Edamame ... PERFECT Coconut Shrimp --- crunchy...
Read moreWe just spent a week in Hawaii and the food in Hawaii was amazing. This is NOT a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant. It is Chinese food restaurant pretending to be Hawaiian. They serve dry shaved beef and cheap fatty chicken. The macaroni salad is nothing but macaroni and mayonnaise work no flavor. And what Hawaiian BBQ place don’t serve Kalua pork? Again, this is NOT a Hawaiian BBQ place. They are only calling it that to not compete with the other Chinese food restaurants in town. I will never go there again. I would give zero stars if I could. I couldn’t even get through half of my plate because there is too much fat and the food is too dry. Save your money or your will be...
Read moreOrdered here for the 1st time since they are closer to my home. I typically go to Ahi Hawaiian bbq that is on Palmdale Blvd near the Vallarta. I was honestly disappointed with this place. I ordered the bbq chicken plate. The chicken was almost undercooked or had too much fat as it was very squish? Also the chicken had very little color. The pieces they give you are very thin and don't really fill you up. They barely give you any cabbage. On top of that the cabbage is shredded and just doesn't look appetizing. I hope management sees these reviews and tries to make changes to save their business. Until then I will continue going to Ahi even though it is a further...
