Support your local Brewers! We had the Valley Trash: Dirty Blonde (unfiltered blond with Kolsch yeast) on the left and Mommy Juice (Imperial hard seltzer aged in a Cognac barrel) on the right. What an amazing place! We have driven past many times but our timing was always off. GREAT place to relax and tell lies about your adventures on the many beautiful trails in the area. Big enough for weddings, events and end of year parties. Many stained glass and rustic furniture art works on display for purchase. Support Local Artists too. The menu(see pictures for beer, cider and food menus as of 04May25, May the Fourth be with you) So glad we finally made it in here, Looking forward to many more visits. The outdoor seating and bike friendly parking is particularly appealing to outdoor adventure. I can see planning a gran fondo around stopping here on the way out and back. The open layout is conducive to many small groups of 10 to eight sharing the space without gettting loud. The laid back folksie music sets the vibe while the Knick-nacks and signage from bygone days in the Mat-Su valley take you back to times when the pace of life was a little slower. A quick head count showed about 50 people, at 150 it would still not seem crowded. Happy to add another Alaskan Local Brewery to the list. So many breweries, so little time. 😀 I don’t know if I will be able to visit, enjoy and document all of our Alaskan micro-brews, but damn it, I’m gonna give it one hellava try.

BHB, thanks for all you do, we...

Just a quick 12-minute detour from the AK-1/AK-3 split, Bleeding Heart Brewery is a small but mighty stop worth making on your way toward Talkeetna. Billing itself as one of Alaska’s smallest breweries, this place more than makes up for its size with creativity, passion, and heart—qualities they feel many beers lack, but you won’t find missing here.

Their standout brew, "Grounds for Divorce Coffee Porter", is a full-bodied coffee powerhouse with a cheeky name. Rich and smooth, this porter delivers a bold coffee flavor that’s worth any trouble it might stir up. It’s the perfect pint for sipping in their spacious interior or out in their large beer garden.

Bleeding Heart also offers a rotating lunch menu, with highlights like their soup of the week and the Bibimbrat—a Korean-inspired bratwurst that adds a unique twist to the brewery’s offerings. The food pairs beautifully with their imaginative beer lineup, creating an experience that’s anything but ordinary.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Bleeding Heart Brewery is the perfect spot to grab a beer and some lunch while soaking in the Alaskan spirit. It’s a place with heart, and it shows...

Stopped in as AK tourists deciding to check out a place that looked a little more interesting then the usual Brewpub... very impressed with the vibe. Nice outdoor patio but we ate inside. Warning the root beer is the sassafras variety so our kids were a little taken aback. I had the chicken salad it was great though a bit spicy, see why they serve the dressing on the side but I went all in. My wife got the Peruvian chicken which was great. My son's a mac and cheese Aficionado and he really liked the bacon mac and cheese. My son got the CBR and said quote "it was really good actually". So this place is a bit more pricey than some other places but the food was delicious. Beers a little more limited in variety than other places, great to support the...
