Not from the area and always enjoy supporting a local business vs chain. This place is near our nephews home in Palmer. Food: my Ruben was tasty. No complaints. The scone was alright. A little on the dry side but it was still good. Coffee was delicious. Not a drop left behind. Atmosphere: pretty much what you would expect of a local cafe. Nothing notable. Service: needs work. Not very welcoming. No good morning, no smiles. Of all the businesses we’ve visited to date, this one is the only one we can’t give 5 stars. Side salad that came with my Ruben had a hair in it. I walked it up to the staff and got no apology or an offer for a new salad. Hence, why I give everything a 3 star review. Not the best experience but not the worst. We won’t be back. Crèma Coffee House & Pastries in Wasilla is where it’s at. Always greeted with a smile from beginning to end. You’ll come back for the food AND the...
Read moreI came here with a group prior to our day trip out to the glacier. We wanted a quick place to stop and get breakfast before our drive. The restaurant is laid back and inviting, with exciting decor from Alaska throughout. There were all types of people dining from locals to tourists such as my group. Service was good and the staff was friendly. Ordering is done at a counter and they bring your food to your table and seat you when it is ready. The Breakfast Burrito was amazing and the perfect way to start the morning. They offer it in varying flavors/meats. If you haven't yet had Reindeer in Alaska, here's a great place to try it. The burrito was nicely pressed to give the shell a crispy texture. Overall, it was a great quick stop and a nice way to support a...
Read moreI could eat The Matanuska everyday - so delicious! The cookies were just ok - if you want the absolute best cookies around, walk a couple blocks to The Baddest Batch!
A little frustrating that when we ordered the Lunch Combo, we were asked if we wanted a cup or bowl; we chose the bowl, then when the order came out we didn't get any bread and we found out we had been charged separately for the items and no bread was offered. If the bowl isn't an option for the Lunch Combo, don't ask if you'd like a cup or bowl.
Plenty of seating inside if you want to dine-in, plus there's a little shop across the hall if you're looking for some unique and local...
