The Fern AK — Restaurant in Palmer

Wow! I love The Fern so much and I’ve already visited 3 times since it’s opening (it’s been 3 weeks lol). These are THE BEST açaí bowls in The Valley hands down.

I’ve tried a create your own bowl as well a Palmer bowl and both were beyond exceptional! The bowls are also AFFORDABLE! Compared to other açaí businesses in Alaska, I think their prices are the best. I’ve also tried their super green smoothie and YUM. Just sweet enough and over all delicious!

When it comes to atmosphere, this is the best place in all The Valley! I can’t wait to bring my laptop and get some work done in a beautiful environment with some delicious açaí. It's a cute smoothie bar and definitely something unique in the valley. The glacier bowl was good though missing in flavor, the cacao nibs are a no go for me they taste like cement rice crispies.

The place itself is too small for the business they are bringing in. It's a good problem to have but there are only 3 tables, a bar and a small sitting area. It's not accomodating for any rush. They also were really disorganized when I was in there and made duplicates for some people while missing orders for others. The attitude of some of the employees was lackluster and they just look like they hated being there. For it being a calling out a name with your order kind of place, the music is too loud.

I went to The Fern on the recommendation of a few friends, my wife, and coworkers. I had been looking for a good coffee shop to do homework at. The smoothie that I had and the bowl that I had were both delicious and healthy. The atmosphere was calm which I really need when I'm working on a paper. One thing that I really appreciated was the staff treating an unhoused man like a person. It was refreshing to see kindness rather than the disgust displayed at so many other establishments.
