We enjoyed our meal here & plan to go again to try the other things on the menu. It was clean and we liked the way it was decorated just so nice and classy and nice atmosphere just comfortable and relaxing and a nice vibe. We had a really nice waitress who was sweet & kind & they had a table all ready for us because we made reservations & they even had a cute name tag on our table for us which was a nice touch. Fresh flowers on the tables with a little candle lamp thing. I ordered the flower tea which was very pretty & cool but not much flavor or anything and it just needs something more like some lemon or orange slices or cinnamon or something to give it some taste. We ordered the bacon appetizer and it was absolutely fantastic super yummy and some of the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the nachos and they are real good & I really liked the salsa it had on it just so good. The calzone was okay but very different from the ones we have had before. We ordered blueberry lemon cheesecake & animal cracker cheesecake and both were very yummy. Definitely give this place a try!
Ate at this place again & had a couple different Panini’s and they were so good & plan to eat them again. We also had a couple differ desserts & they were real good. We had a large French press of coffee & we both enjoyed it as well. Bathrooms are also nice & clean in this restaurant & very hot water. We are people that notice when things are nice & clean & we...
Read moreWe were only visiting Anchorage for a few days, and really wanted to get a feel for unique food found only around here. This ended up being the perfect option!
Their menu focuses on paninis as the main course for dinner, but they also offer salads, calzones, and a few appetizers (including one I've never seen on a menu before!). Everything we ordered was delicious! Highly recommend trying anything on the menu that stikes your fancy - the variety of things we got were all top tier and the rest of the menu promises to be just as good.
Our wait staff were also incredible. They were cordial, attentive, and just plain nice. You could tell they were really passionate about making their guests feel welcome. (Our particular waiter was Noah; thank you Noah for an amazing experience!)
Don't forget to order a dessert, too! We learned that the owner loves to make different kinds of cheesecakes, and makes whatever feels right at the time. There is no consistent cheesecake menu, just whatever happens to be in the display case. We tried the Samoan and were blown away by how rich and delicious it was. I'm sure any other option will taste just as good with such a phenomenal baker behind it.
Thank you Sweet Gypsy for a wonderful dinner! If we find ourselves in Alaska again, we will definitely make a point to come back. Much love...
Read moreI decided to try out this place due to the hype around it and it's one of the few restaurants in Palmer that I haven't tried. We decided to take out the food for the evening, so I can't attest to the dine in experience at the restaurant.
In terms of the food, the paninis were just disappointing. I order the Turkey Trot and my husband tried the CBR. I just couldn't finish my panini it's the first time I've ever thrown food out that I've purchased from a restaurant. My panini was just slathered in cream cheese which drowned out any flavor in the panini. My husband encountered similar issues with the CBR. It's like no care was given to either panini.
It's kind of funny to think these even come with sides at all. You are given what amounts to about a half of a cup of either pasta salad or coleslaw. We ended up trying both and the pasta salad fell short, but the coleslaw was surprisingly good. A little disappointing for the price, but it seems like the size of the panini is intended to make up the difference.
Not sure what happened since this place regularly gets pretty...
