Quaint little house turned into a restaurant that serves upscale food with locally sourced ingredients. They were able to get us in even though we did not have a reservation and showed up after there normal table seating times. I got their garden salad with blue cheese dressing - all ingredients were fresh crisp and tasted great. The micro greens and fresh flowers on the dishes were a nice touch. They used bread crumbs instead of croutons which complimented the delicate salad. Husband got the salmon chower which he said was really really good before he inhaled it. It smelled amazing but I did not try it myself. We ordered a bread starter which was a crispy foccacia bread served with herbed oil and vinegar. Honestly it was probably to much bread and we ate it all it.. practically stuffed ourselves. It was fluffy and soft while being crispy and flavorful. We both ordered the beef tenderloin which was served with mash potatoes broccolini and carrots. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly and topped with a brown gravy that was just the right consistency. Vegetables were not over or under cooked and again seasoned perfectly. The tenderloin it self was an excellent cut and was very tender but not mushy. It was also seasoned very well with what I am assuming was a peppercorn rub. The servers were working their buts off being prompt friendly and courteous. Kitchen staff was on it as well and dishes came out in quick order. Basically as we finished each dish the next wasn't far behind. Not pictured were two cocktails. Matanuska mist and wildflower margaritas. Both light and refreshing in their own way and honestly would have ordered more if we stayed longer. For being our first nice meal post partum I give it a 5/5 .

Feather & Flour in Palmer, Alaska is truly redefining what it means to dine in the Last Frontier. Nestled in the stunning Mat-Su Valley, this restaurant brings the farm-to-table philosophy to life in a way that few places can. Every dish here feels like a tribute to Alaska’s rich, rugged landscape, from the fresh local ingredients to the carefully curated wine pairings. The meal started with roasted local carrots paired with house-made ricotta, honey, and kelp—a unique combination that set the bar high for the rest of the evening. The Caprese salad was bursting with flavor, featuring vibrant local tomatoes and a garden-fresh pesto. The highlight for me was the Kodiak Weathervane Scallops, served with a smooth potato purée and winter squash, paired perfectly with a dry Riesling. What really elevates Feather & Flour is the attention to detail. The service was impeccable, with the staff providing insight into the origin of the ingredients and thoughtful wine pairings. The setting—a cozy 1950s house—adds to the intimacy of the experience, making you feel like you're dining in the heart of Alaska, surrounded by towering mountains and glacial rivers. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Feather & Flour offers an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the beauty of Alaska through its food. It’s no surprise that this restaurant has gained such a loyal following, and I wouldn’t be shocked if it eventually earns Michelin recognition. Be sure to make a reservation, as this place is in high demand.

This place was a huge disappointment to us & we picked this place thinking it was gonna be fancy & classy & a great place for our special date. Right before we headed in we seen another couple head in & the guy was in his snow bibs & snow machining winter clothes & right then we should of known it wasn’t gonna be fancy at all & fit the reservation only $60 a person vibe. We sat so close to the guy in snow bibs my back was about touching him so we moved our table as far away & into the corner as we could so glad the table moved. Music was so loud & paired with a lady that got drunk & obnoxious by us & we had to hear about private stuff & nasty medical stuff from her our whole time it was so bad we couldn’t hear each other most of the time & it gave us headaches & was more like being in a bar. Our food & service was not great & did not fit a fancy expensive reservation only place at all. Food was so small & so little we left hungry after spending over $150. I was out of water half the time. Our table got dirty after eating our bread & it stayed dirty & it should get wiped off after each course & after my salad I was handed back a dirty fork & told I had to use it again for my next course which is a huge Nono if you consider yourself a fancy restaurant & you do at $60 a person. First courses we got were so small it was literally a couple bites. My second course was a little salad and it was lettuce completely soaked in ranch dressing so you couldn’t even see what it was it was like soggy wilted greens, tons of tomatoes & instead of croutons I got the end of the bag crumbs soaked in ranch dressing and I was so hungry by this point I ate it after sitting for an hour. Absolutely no customer service or kindness, no how are doing, no are you here for a special occasion or have you been here before or are you from Alaska just absolutely nothing from anybody. We went 30 minutes at a time with nobody at all checking on us or doing anything for us. Other tables had chef & 3 others at the table at once multiple times but of course they all were ordering alcoholic drinks & we were not. This place seemed more centered on drinking than anything. Our main course actually got taken to the drunk loud ladies table first then brought to our table. Steak & tomato soup was okay & probably the best of everything we had. It’s pretty bad to have to leave feeling like you never should have went & hungry & I felt sick after the salad I ate & our wallet was definitely lighter. We will never go again & we have already told all our friends how it was. We will just stick with the amazing customer service & fantastic food at noisy goose & much more affordable as well & no...

Feather and Flour in Palmer, Alaska, is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The meal began with the arancini starter, perfectly crisp on the outside and wonderfully creamy on the inside. Each bite was a delightful burst of flavor, leaving us eager for more.

Next, the carrot ginger soup arrived, and it was a revelation. The velvety texture and the harmonious blend of sweet carrots and spicy ginger created a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds.

For the main course, we had the rockfish with curry sauce and rice, and it was simply sensational. The rockfish was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, and the curry sauce was a delightful accompaniment, adding a depth of flavor that was both comforting and exotic. The rice served as the perfect canvas, soaking up the rich sauce and enhancing the overall dish.

The dessert, a chocolate Basque cheesecake, was the perfect ending to the meal. Rich, creamy, and decadent, it was a chocolate lover's dream come true. Paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was the ultimate indulgence.

To top off the evening, we also enjoyed the homemade bread, which was exquisite. Freshly baked and served warm, it was the perfect complement to the meal.

Feather and Flour is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. The impeccable service, the exquisite food, and the charming ambiance make it a must-visit destination in Palmer. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and dine at Feather and Flour. You won't be...
