Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Palo Alto

This restaurant does NOT honor its listed carryout hours

I placed an online order for carryout at around 2:56AM (got a text message confirmation at 2:57AM). I arrived at the store around 3:17AM (3 minutes within the listed carryout hours) only to find that the store was closed with no one inside. I drove back home after waiting ~15 minutes outside feeling confused, angry, hungry, and without the pizza I already paid for.

I spoke with a guy on the phone the day after who told me that the store actually closes at 3AM, and that they had waited until 3:09AM before closing the store. I asked about the hours mentioned on their website and they had no response. They refused to offer a refund or to remake the pizza.

I have no choice here but to file a credit card dispute. A store has no excuse for not honoring the hours they advertise.

I also filed a complaint through their internal website feedback tool on the spot. It's been 12 hours since and I haven't received any response or even an email confirmation that they received...

Attempted to call and make a delivery order. Gentleman that answered the phone was rude through the conversation. There was obvious language barrier because each time I asked him if he could hear me now he very clearly said no I can’t hear you. I gave him my address multiple times and very slowly as to make sure he was getting and understanding each portion I gave him. He ended the first call with I’m not going to deliver their sorry and hung up. Second call to fry and speak with his manager about the situation went basically they same way. He couldn’t hear me but clearly responded to all my questions including that he was the manager and his name was David and to contact his corporate office I’d have to do it online and...

This review isn't based on the food or the price. Some people like Papa John's, some like Dominos, some like Pizza Hut and most don't like any of the major chains. (I actually prefer the taste Dominos personally)

This review is based on the service. I've ordered from this Papa John's numerous times and they've always brought my order way faster than I expected (20-30 min on campus on a week night, 25-35 at peak times). Pizzas always arrive piping hot and the delivery guys are all really friendly and professional. When ordering a lot of pizzas for an event, Papa John's has always delivered right on time unlike some of the other pizza places in town.
