[UPDATED] My experience didn't start off great but I wanted to give a benefit of doubt. Then there were a couple of mishaps that then made me and husband decide to never come here again because we were pretty scarred.

We had decided to try a new cuisine and came across this restaurant during a leisure stroll and entered the restaurant in the Palo Alto branch. We were seated immediately in a decent space and then were provided the menu cards.

After placing our appetizer menus, the waiter literally grabbed my menu and we had to quickly tell him we needed atleast one menu. I was pretty startled and found him rude but then decided maybe he was in a hurry and let it go.

Then we got our Palata! Omg, it was so delicious! I absolutely loved it! They delivered it pretty quickly and I was impressed by the speed. Then our second appetizer also came to our table within five minutes. I was beyond excited because I was super hungry.

And here's the worst part that happened.

We had ordered Fried Tofu, ensured that everything we had ordered was vegetarian. AND WE GOT CHILLY SAUCE THAT WAS NON VEGETARIAN!

the horror :(

I accidentally ate a little bit and then the waiter comes to our table and gives us a different chilly sauce saying that this sauce might have had something and so have this instead.

My plate had half my Palata. I was so upset to be wasting it because of this mishap. I wasn't offered any sort of compensation. I was super sad.

The highlight certainly was when we were served our Ruby Salad! It was yummy and the waitress beautifully explained what each ingredient was and mixed it pretty well.

I had to wait 10 minutes for a water refill though the waiter said they will get it right away.

My experience in this restaurant was pretty traumatizing and I don't think I'll be coming back here. Which is a pity because I really liked the food. It was good.

Edit To make up for the service the last time, we were provided a complimentary entree! My husband and I went with four other friends this time and the service was outstanding! I requested that all dishes and sauces provided to be strictly vegetarian. Food was as good as before! I'll definitely be coming again! Thank you very much, Rangoon Ruby & Team, for the...

This was a second visit after a very pleasant first experience, both times on a Thursday evening. The staff is friendly and attentive, the venue has been recently upgraded and has an urban feel. The highlight are the blown-glass chandeliers. Outside seating is also available. The tables inside are very close to each other and overhearing the neighbors' conversation is unavoidable. From the appetizers tried the Samosas, Egg rolls and Palatas: the Palatas come with a side of chicken curry and the Samosas with a tasty spicy red sauce. All were tasty, but the Samosas were extremely hot, we burned our mouths. In contrary, the water for the tea was not warm enough to brew a tea and even more disappointing was that the water had a very strong smell, ruined the otherwise excellent and fragrant Mighty leaf Green tea Tropical, at $4.50 for a small pot. The brown rice was nicely presented, but again, not warm enough, undercooked and completely tasteless. On the opposite, the chicken curry was so oversalted, it was not possible to eat without the rice, although the meat itself was tender and cooked well. The pieces of chicken were quite large to serve with the spoon and hard to eat without a knife, but strangely, the utensils include only a fork. The highly recommended pork noodles were tasty, but very oily. I mostly enjoyed the eggplant with garlic, but that was very oily too. Overall, for the price expected much higher quality of the food...

Horrible service and racist/prejudice staff!!! If you value great customer service, this place truly isn't the place for you.

Before even entering the building, me and my party were assumed to be sitting with random members of the restaurant simply because they were the only other African American people in the restaurant!

Unprompted our waitress saw the need to come and privately tell us "this isn't the type of curry that YOU ALL are used too. This isn't Jamaican curry this is red curry"

3.Finally, when the food came, the chicken smelled and tasted expired or simply poorly prepared. When we told the waitress about this, we were instructed that "this wasn't that kind of restaurant, we aren't the (blank) restaurant". When asked to speak to the manager, we were met with the same invalidating and simply belligerent tone from the manager as well. The manager then accused us of not even tasting the food to check if it was expired.

After a simply jarring and racist encounter with the manager a new meal was prepared after taking away the original dish. However, instead of only charging for one meal, we were charged for both the spoiled meal and the remake.

Truly the worst restaurant I have been too. I would highly recommend for anyone seeking a restaurant with even an ounce of value for the customer to...

we been to the restaurant on a saturday evening and we never had any reservation . But the staff was courteous and accommodated us and we were 4 adults with one baby requiring a high chair . All of us are vegetarians and this restaurant offered us good spread for us The restaurant offers wine menu and burmese style cocktail. I ordered Rangoon gimlet. It was good . we ordered Tea leaf salad (A mix of Burmese tea leaves, fried garlic, yellow beans, peanuts, sesame seeds, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno peppers) , Mango salad (Shredded fresh green mangoes served with fried onions, fried garlic, cabbage, red onions, yellow bean powder, cucumber )and samosa soup as starter. The server bough the salads to the table and explained the contents and mixed the salad . The salad and soups were very tasty. For the main course we ordered Veggie kabat (A mix of vegetables and tofu stir-fried with paprika, masala, tamarind, green chilies, mint leaves, tomatoes, onions and cilantro.) coconut rice ( this was tasting sweet) and home style fried rice . The table was small to accommodate all the dishes as they were served quickly . On the whole the quality of the food was excellent and would definitely recommend for vegetarians to try this restaurant

I was looking for a place to dine in with my friends so made a list of ~15 restaurants in Sunnyvale, Milpitas, San Nose, Fremont, Palo Alto, Mountain View and San Carlos. All were for different cuisines and then we decided for the Burmese food. This restaurant comes always top in my list for Burmese cuisine but since I have been here earlier so finalized the one in Milpitas (even though I was still thinking about this) so I tried to reserve a table for 10+ but didn’t get confirmation. Somehow I also wanted so I called here and the sweet lady (I forgot the name, sorry) confirmed our reservation. When we reached there we had to find the parking somewhere nearby and also had to manage a little with the space in the restaurant but after that the experience was awesome. We enjoyed the Palta, Mango Tofu, Fried Tofu, Eggplant Curry with Burmese rice, Spring rolls and Coconut curry, superb. Pros: Lovely/ Delicious food, Super nice staff including the manager, prime location (PA down town), Popular, Affordable, Easy order/payment system. Cons: A little congested for a large group but manageable, Parking on peak time can be hard (however a lot of parking is available)
