So disappointed. They claimed they had a fundraiser going on where you “pay what you want more or less” on 11/21/23. That was a lie. The point of the fundraiser AS THEY ADVERTISED IT (not my interpretation their words) was so people could donate whatever amount they are able to and the proceeds would go directly to the charity. There was a customer before us and she was rang up regular and charged full price, no problem maybe that was her decision. Then my turn came and I pointed to the flyer they had on the register and I said “are you still doing this today?” The cashier said yes. I was also rang up regular and charged full price, no question on how much I would like to pay. I personally had an amount in mind I was going to donate which happen to be more than the item, so of course it wasn’t an issue. But the opposite could have been true and what an embarrassing situation I would’ve found myself in. But the entire day was advertised as PAY AS YOU WANT MORE OR LESS with the emphasis on “SO EVERYONE CAN DONATE AND NOT BE EMBARRASSED OF THE AMOUNT. So the idea was the bakery was donating the items and the customers were donating money. It was not true and I do not appreciate being lied to. How not only disappointing to have such a false advertisement but pathetic. Don’t lie about donations. That’s sad.
Edit to respond to comment: I know several people who are struggling given the current economic state and so given how this specific campaign was advertised, it was their opportunity to assist in what they were able and were not given the chance. I was also shown an update to which the cashier was asked did anyone pay less and responded no. So someone is not being honest, either way it speaks to the business. You saying you’re donating sales is not the issue, the issue is the way it was advertised. The donation was a choice, as was the way it was told to customers and how it was executed. You chose to let customers know they could pay essentially whatever they wanted for the baked goods, if that’s not true, don’t say it. Lastly, the one star is for everything, the deception and quality of the baked goods. I didn’t not enjoy and would have never tried this bakery if it had not been...
Read morePastries: I came here on a mission to try the infamous pinwheel looking croissant here! I did indeed find it! They had a selection of Nutella or Pistachio flavored and custard filled croissants. I love both flavors but decided to go with the Pistachio this time around. So - the the croissant itself was very flaky and soft but firm enough to hold it's beautiful round shape. The pistachio custard inside wasn't too bland nor overly sweet. However, the only cons would be the cute pistachio cream decoration on top of the croissant- it tasted slightly like a hardened frosting from sitting out too long and nowhere as fresh as the filling. Might be more for design purposes than taste. WARNING ⚠️ - THERE WILL BE CROISSANT FLAKES EVERYWHERE. You've been warned. On a side note, sister's friend ordered a strawberry cheesecake cup. She noted that it was very fresh and had a light sweetness to it. She'd definitely recommend.
Atmosphere: Cute, cozy set up inside the store. Pink velveteen seats and soft pink pastel walls. Very feminine.
Service: Prompt. You simply ask for whatever you like in the display case. To my understanding, whatever is out is all that will be out for the day. Did not see a menu anywhere, so I simply inquired about the different types of pastries in...
Read moreI was excited to try this place, with stuffed croissant and while the croissant was tasty, it was a bit burnt, at least to the kind I'm used to. The toppings and filling were tasty. I got the blueberry cheesecake and I think it was good. It had a bit too much filling for me but that's more of a me issue since the texture of most fillings is off putting when I get too much in a bite but some people may really like that. The woman working was very kind and answered our questions with a smile! I wouldn't mind trying a few other items, as everything in the case looked so tasty. There were people that arrived shortly after us and the lobby area was not very large and again this is a me issue but I felt rushed. The woman working was not rushing us I just felt in the way trying to decide what to try. For three stuffed croissants, I believe after tax it was about $30 and they were very filling, so to me worth the price. I would say I hope they put some attention into their lobby. The display cases on the side that I believe were just decoration were lacking and the chairs were stained with multiple little spots but had the potential to be...
