I never like to do this, unless there is more than one or two reasons for a one star review...that being said, The service was not very good and I felt rushed the entire time at this diner. Another thing that really upset me was that everybody spoke Spanish end it was assumed that so did we so the waitress came to our table and started her spiel in all Spanish. I found that slightly offensive since the diner seemed like an American diner. When it came time for us to pack a couple of things to-go, three different people came to push us along and although we are supposed to pay at the front before leaving, they were irritated that I was there with my toddler and moving a little bit slower than they would have liked, so the owner angrily took the tab and the money off of our table and went and did it for us. Furthermore, we ordered waffles with fresh strawberries and powdered sugar, but the waffles were definitely not fresh and although we asked a second time for powdered sugar they barely sprinkled any on top. My sons eggs were absolutely awful and almost raw and the bacon was burnt to a complete crisp so we did not even eat it, but we were definitely charged for it. Lastly, It was warm outside so I wanted to change my son, but my own personal preference is to not use public restrooms to do so. I typically kneel down nearly under the table and change his pants and shirt while he is standing up. Well, the owner felt it was appropriate to repeatedly tell me how terrible that is and how her bathroom is the cleanest around because of Covid and went on and on until she was making a scene. I usually don’t get worked up, so I did not say anything, but deep down I felt really upset because I have a dined in some of the most expensive restaurants, at The Glen and Navy Pier, etc., Francesca’s in Frankfurt, Gibsons downtown, Lux Café, and not one of these places minded that I changed my son by my table. Actually, the waiter at Gibsons offered to help. That is what I expected from this place. Sadly that was not the case. So, bad service (we didn’t even get water or napkins until we asked), bad tasting food, bad customer service, and visibly irritated and angry people making a scene in front of my child...well, this place deserves a negative rating. If you dine here,...
Read moreI called in for a pick up order since I was at Moraine Valley Community College and when I googled restaurants nearby this was the top highly rated options. I was hungry after being at Moraine 8am-1:30pm. You definitely get a bang for your buck here considering the high level of craftsmanship received in each order.
The restaurant is family owned by Josie, her husband & kids. It is a well-run ship that offers a welcoming friendly experience.
The food is exceptionally tasty. I ordered a turkey panini that came with chipotle mayo. It comes with a side of fries + soup. BEST panini I have ever tasted. The ingredients are fresh and carefully selected. It comes w bacon, it was crispy and the right amount of thickness. Oh & let me not forget to mention the belle of the ball— the chipotle mayo, it has the right amount of kick that will have you licking your fingers.
Congratulations to Josie & her family & staff for this...
Read moreMy husband was recommended this restaurant. We went Sunday after church and loved it. The place is clean. When we arrived the restaurant was crowded. Right away we were seated and served coffee. Our order was taken and received in a timely manner. The menu has a variety of options from American and even Mexican options. We had breakfast there and it was delicious. My husband ordered crepes and I ordered an egg Benedict with a side of hash browns. I did go to the bathroom and the bathroom was also clean. Overall, excellent customer service and delicious food.
I spoke to the owner, Josie, and one of the daughters, Stephany, who also works there. They are a very nice family who speak both Spanish and English and make you feel...
