This place ruined my daughter's 1st birthday photoshoot. Very cold hearted and unapologetic, even after they clearly made a huge mistake. Honestly it makes me sad that i have to write this review but people need to know. Im even more sad at this point because I can't undo the pictures. I ordered from them before and i was going to order another cake in a couple of weeks but after what kind of cake they made for me and how they treated me, I'd rather not deal with them ever again.
I was initially told i need to place the order through Cheryn by calling her and sending her a picture, which i did. Im not sure if shes the owner but she was the main contact. I also spoke to her right after I sent the pictures. She sounded very confident and said the cake would be ready on the specific day I request it, which was the day l had my daughters photoshoot. Meanwhile my photographer lives close by so she offered to pick up the cake for me, which was ok because they made a cake for me before so i trusted them somewhat. Im really not sure what happened or if they have a new baker but when i got to the photoshoot the cake was completely different than what i wanted. I texted Cheryn immediately and she said, oh I didnt review the cake after it was made..I thought to myself....really!?! so then i called the baker in the morning and she even tells me something worse! She says "well Cheryn told me to make any kind of unicorn cake because she said u were not specific" I nearly lost it at that point. What kind of person takes an order and doesn't tell the baker what the customer wants when they are clearly paying extra to make a custom cake and on top of that doesn't even apologize! I'm still kicking myself in the foot because had i known or seen the cake from this place prior I would've just walked away. I hope everyone reads this before ordering. Please beware, these people treat customers...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I had one of these donuts because someone brought it over to my house, and I was so impressed with how amazing it tasted. I finally made it out to their location today to get a few donuts and I was highly disappointed. I entered into the bakery and no one welcomed us in. One of the two women asked what can I get you, but I asked for a moment because we were looking at what to get. There was no one else there except us and the woman kept pressuring us to decide. I ask for a donut and the woman at the cashier said “that’s it?!” with an attitude like she was upset I was only getting one donut. My sister ended up asking for 3 donuts and before she could finish asking for the 3, the woman cut her off and said, “first of all, is this order separate or together?”. After establishing our order was together, her attitude slightly changed. Then she proceeded to ask us which donuts we wanted after we already told her, and there were no donuts on the shelves to begin with. We didn’t know where to look except for assuming they had chocolate and blueberry donuts based on their Facebook calendar menu. We took our donuts and drove home 10 minutes away and got home to notice our donuts were hard as a rock and the icing was melted as of the donuts had been sitting out all morning and afternoon. Honestly, even if it was an off day for them and their donuts weren’t the best, I would’ve been a returning customer, but because of their rude customer service, they now lost out on my business and my referrals/ my company event parties.
Here’s some advice Dough’s Guys: regardless of how a customer looks or what their ethnicity is, a good business owner knows to welcome and treat ALL their customers with respect to have...
Read moreBest bakery not only in Palos, but in Chicago! Their donuts are to die for! I mean, they are de-li-cious! And don't even get me started on the cupcakes. Their frosting is one of a kind, I could recognize it ANYWHERE!! We got a cake for my grandmother's birthday, and everyone in the family loved it! LOVED!! They also have the nicest customer service, and they are very entertaining. I mean, an elf on the shelf is going on right now, and Harold is the cutest little elf who hides in the strangest places (check the exit sign)! It is also located in a great area. If you are around Dough's Guys, I would recommend anything there. The maple bacon long john is my personal fave. Love them so much! It's a great family owned business, and I've got to know their family from being a regular customer, and they are just...
