Waffle House — Restaurant in Panama City Beach

I don’t know if they were short staffed or what. There were 6 of us, 4 in one booth, and two in the booth behind us. The 2, got their drinks, food, ate, and paid before our server (the same server mind you) brought us our food. We proceeded to then ask for our drinks which we did not get until asked. In total we waited 45 minutes to even get our drinks. We watched multiple groups of people walk in, eat, then leave before we got anything. When we asked the server about our food he shook us off and said “yea yea”. Once we finally got our food, everything was cold. One of us asked to remake the steak because it was completely cold and not good, he just wrapped it up in a to go wrapper and gave it back within 3 minutes. I am highly disappointed in the service we had. I would not recommend this waffle house. We even asked other servers to help us and no one walked over. I don’t know why we, out of everyone there was singled out. There was a lot of people there too because this was after gulf coast jam day 1. I’m currently inside this Waffle House at this very moment with my friends, trying to eat breakfast and it happens to be my birthday. Every year for my birthday the Waffle House sends me a birthday coupon and I was always redeemed it via mobile in Atlanta. But this Waffle House isn’t trying to redeem my coupon.

They said that I was unable to redeem it because I didn’t have a physical copy of my birthday coupon. I asked to speak to the manager and explained to them that in the past I never had to show a physical coupon for the food because I proved that I received the email. In addition I just received it not to long ago and I had no access to a printer. I offered to forward the email so they can be able to print it out but the manager refused my offer.

I called the corporate number and made a complaint about the treatment I received from the staff but corporate wasn’t helpful either. They just apologized but gave no resolution to my issue.

My husband and I stopped by this Waffle House on our way out of town on our 43rd anniversary trip. My husband thought it looked kind of crowded and almost went down the road to the next one. We were so glad we didn't!! They were busy but not slammed like they can be. We sat right down and were greeted by Shevanna's beautiful and very genuine smile. She didn't have a rehearsed, robotic-like friendliness like so many do nowadays. She genuinely made us feel welcome and cared that we had a great meal and all around experience. When our food came, it was so quick, we were somewhat taken aback. Everything was so good, perfectly cooked! I also loved that they gave us our eggs and sides first and our waffles last, like dessert. Everyone worked together cheerfully and efficiently like a great team/family.
