Grocery selection was great, we were able to get almost everything on our list. The reason I am only leaving two stars is because of our experience with the cashier. At first, Amy was pleasant and greeted us with a smile. She then asked if we both had our IDs, since there was a case of beer in our cart, to which I said no because I had left it at the condo. I understand that it may be protocol here for everyone to have their ID when purchasing alcohol, however I think she could’ve been a little less rude when handling the situation. Her attitude instantly turned cold and she told me to step away from the cart, so I did. I wasn’t really sure what to do at that point, so I started walking around the front of the store trying to get to the other side of the checkout area. She told my boyfriend that I needed to go outside while I was moving out of someone’s way who was trying to checkout. I would have happily stepped outside if she had asked me to in the first place, so I don’t know why she just told me to move away from the cart. Once I got around the checkout area, she snapped at me and said, “you need to go outside right now.” I was not the one purchasing the beer and I am not even a drinker. She had a very condescending attitude towards both me and my boyfriend. I just wish she had handled the situation in a more professional manner. My family has shopped at this location for over twenty years when visiting Panama City Beach. However, we will not be coming back to this...
Read moreI went to this store on the way home from work. After collecting my items for purchase I I went to a check out line where I over heard a young girl bagger tell the cashier in my line that the cash drawer was retarded because it was hard to close. I asked her to refrain from using the word retarded as some people have disabled children and it was not appropriate. I had to repeat it because she had ear buds in and removed them to hear me. The bag girl then smirked and said, "Well, I feel like I has freedom of speech." I informed here that did not apply in the workplace and she continued to be indignant. I asked her to get the manager and she said "You can get him yourself". I asked her name and she said "Don't worry about it". The bag girl then walked about 10 feet away and I asked the cashier for the bag girls name and she told me it was Ashley. Ashley then began walking to the office and stated that she would get the Store Manager. I was livid at this point. I approached the manager identified as Leland and explained to him what happened in a very kurt manner. He stood there with a shocked look on his face and asked me repeatedly to quiet down. I informed him I would handle it via this route and he stated ok.
I am appalled at this example of customer service representation. This employee is an embarrassment to the WINN DIXIE brand and should be removed from ANY Customer Service position within...
Read moreI was ignored in the Deli by a young woman Only putting chicken into a box! I was there to make a deli salad purchase. There were 4 people back there. One was wiping down a counter . I know that's important too, but when a customer walks up, you acknowledge them right away. I waited a few minutes before saying anything, the store wasn't that busy. I firstly said, Hello!! Nothing, then excuse me, still nothing. A lady walked up and stood behind me, so a line was beginning to form. I , then raised my voice slightly, thinking she may not have heard me-her back was to me. I said Hello again, I know exactly what I want!! The lady that way cleaning finally felt my angst and walked over to help with my order. She was sweet. The other lady was not!! I wish I knew her name or would have taken a photo!! I would have left, however they have this Greek Orzo salad that I can't find anywhere else, it's delicious!! She made me feel invisible, I've worked with the public for years, (I'm 68) and know it can be frustrating, but if she doesn't like her job, she should Not be there! It reflects badly on Winn Dixie. I've been shopping the same store since 1997, I wish I had told management That day, but I didn't wanna be like a snitch-so glad I had this opportunity to get it off my chest!! Thank you sincerely and...
