I'm all for going back to an establishment and giving it another try. But,,,,,!!!!! Today, as with most Sundays, my husband and I go have breakfast and then run errands. Today was no different, other than Waffle House was packed. So we decided to give Danny's another chance at redemption. And as usual, they failed miserably. Our waitress, I'll call her A, had the personality of an amoeba. Other than her relentless determination to destroy the last bit of flavor in her gum, she was certainly not interested in customer service, let alone a decent tip. (TIP, To Ensure Prompt Service) One of the things that drives me crazy is a gum chewing server. If not for her pre-occupation with chewing, I'm surprised she even had a pulse. After ordering. I observed a waitress standing at the counter. She pulled out her chap stick and smeared her lips. Not to be outdone by the gum chewer, I observed her use her finger to rub in said chap stick, ring up an order, and serve a customer, ahhhh food. All that talent and her hands never touched a drop of soap and water. Amazing! Our food arrived, sans toast. How do pancakes take less time than toast to cook, I ask myself? Anyway, I digress. Let's talk about my, ahhĥ food. Eggs over easy could easily be mistaken for semi-raw. With bits and pices of burnt food in the eggs, this tells me the cook didn't scrape the grill prior to breaking the eggs. Bacon was reheated on the grill and lacked any flavor at all. As a matter of fact, it was difficult to find the tiny thin strips among the burned hash browns. The Hash Browns were served in an ocean of greese. The bits and pieces clinging to the plate, praying they wouldn't slide off as they struggled not to drown in a sea of greese. Had it not been for the burnt consistency and rigormortis setting in, surely they would not have survived the trip from the kitchen to the table. Pancakes! They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But I'll try anyway. Tasteless, over and under cooked all at the same time. Butter so stiff it still hadn't melted when we got up to leave. The cold syrup didn't help matters either. Lesson learned. This Dennys is not properly managed if managed at all. Personal hygiene was lacking in every way imaginable. The staff must have napped through the Serve Safe class they are required to attend. Customer service was lacking as well. I don't see myself returning anytime...
Read moreI once ate at a Denny's 20 years ago & it made me throw up so I was hesitant to go back but I figured hey it's been a long time let's give it a chance. We came in at a Saturday night at around 9 & only 1 waitress with half the diner to herself. Turns out they always let the other girl go home early. Warning signs early...
Took 10 mins to get our drinks, then the manager ordered the waitress to bus 2 tables BEFORE taking our order, when logic dictates you take orders, get them cooking, THEN, bus the tables so you got 2 things going at once. Time conservation anyone? Also why not make the bus boy do it or do it yourself manager?! Poor management there... can't blame the waitress. I almost spoke to the manager right there.
30+ mins later we get our food. I got the avocado chicken salad and the cheddar broccoli soup. 1) the portion for a bowl of soup was like a cup 2) the soup had pieces of broccoli I couldn't even chew & I had to spit them out. The chicken was bland & the avocados were lacking. Picture showed a lot more than I got, but hey... Par for the course right? Girlfriend got the turkey club which tasted good, but the bread was toasted so it was too hard to bite into considering the size. Clubs aren't meant to be toasted. Kitchen staff problem, not the waitress again.
Bill was $29+ I tipped a nice $4 for the waitress troubles as she was dealing with more than she could handle. Plus during the meal the kitchen staff was arguing with the manager, the manager was saying inappropriate things so the whole diner could hear, like "sticking a bell where no one could find it" ie: up someone's butt, & to top it all off right before we left the lady next to us got mushrooms on a dish she didn't order & she was allergic to mushrooms!
Needless to say I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO DENNY'S AGAIN!!! I'll be making a call to corporate about that...
Read moreI went in on thurs nov 9. I had never eat at this particular Denny’s and heard some good things. Well I don’t have anything good to say. We ordered our food and only one of us out of two recurved the meal we told the woman who wasn’t our waitress we were missing a meal. She goes up and argues with our waitress and the kitchen staff very loudly. This happened about 3 minutes and then I received my meal which had hash browns not grits. She goes and tells the kitchen she needs a side of grits they say we need the hash browns back. I was waiting. We had all heard the bickering. She comes right to the table and as she says it grabs my plate and takes it back. She also is very rude to an elderly couple a little ways from us in a booth which is when I said I am done. I told my waitress I want the manager and a Togo box. I explained my issue to the manager and she went and said something to her. Now there was a woman who told the manager she felt the same way and they had left also. The manager goes to the back and the woman starts to rally up the coworkers and the other customers to be on her side by saying I was just mad at losing the hash browns. The people that know me would tell her that’s a lie. I could have raised hell and gotten my food for free and demanded an order of hash browns because of her behavior. I had the worst experience and if u see an overweight dark haired woman who is loud brace yourself. It...
