This review is of my experience with the cat grooming services only...I have 3 pets ages 13, 11, & 9. Two of them are long haired and require regular grooming and this has been a routine for them and our family all of their lives. I say that to explain we have traveled at times and had several different groomings; we've had some excellent experiences some average and once my shih tzu was completely shaved and I was still not as upset as I was when I picked up my cat. I've never complained and I regret having too now. Since Hurricane Michael our regular groomers have been out of commision and I have struggled to find anyone to groom my cat. So I decided to try Pet Smart. First, the only thing nice I can say is everyone in the store was nice, except the cat groomer, Jennifer I think her name was. I am not new at this grooming thing and after speaking with groomers over the years they've told me to ask for a "lion cut" explaining why the legs on cats cannot be shaved due to "sensors" in their paws. So that's what I ask for; a Lion Cut, don't bob the tail. The groomer was rude telling me I did not want a lion cut and I said well I want his hair like a short haired cat just assuming a professional groomer got my point. When I picked my cat up I didn't see him until I got home and in all his life I have never seen a more horrible "shave job" and that's ALL it was. I honestly could've done this at home myself. His hair is gapped and full of cut marks, she shaved him down to his paws. I don't mind paying good money for good work but basically paid 61.00 for nothing. I've paid much less for far better. This person should never groom cats again. I watched the groomers with the dogs and they looked professional and I cannot speak to dog grooming at this Pet Smart but.....WOW, I would never do this to anyone's pet. I'm honestly not sure who lied to her and gave her a license to groom cats but she needs to attend some further classes and learn to be a little more personable to work in the public. If you can't be friendly at least be professional; or just get a different job. I would've never complained about her attitude if she had at least treated my cat with some respect. I am sad and angry everytime I look at my cat. Even my family asked, who in the world did I let cut my cat's hair. Extremely disappointed, I never thought I would actually write a negative review but after a few days to think it over. ...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I was thankful that petsmart had room for a grooming apontment for all my 5 dogs on the same day. The reason for the not so great review is because I was disappointed with how my dogs looked when I picked them up. On one of my dogs, almost all the fur is gone between his eyes down to his nose. My littlest one looked scraggly in the face. But the main issue I had was with my older collie mix. I payed 110 dollars for him to get fully groomed which included de-shedding and compacted fur removal. At that price I want him to look amazing. When I saw him, he looked almost the exact same as when I dropped him off. I brought him back into the salon to have him fixed up, and popped out to the store to check out some toys. I came back when they texted me only to find that he still had matted hair, compaction, uneven hair, and even some dirty spots in his fur.I sat on the floor with the groomer showing her all the areas that still had issues. She sat there with me and was apologizing the whole time, but at a point my old boy was getting tired and I wanted to take him home to rest. He still has impacted areas and small knots in his fur. The next day, I used a wide tooth comb on his fur and it’s still difficult to get through areas of his fur. I could have done what she did at my own home, which is the frustrating part. It honestly just seems like them gave him a bath and brushed him out. I wanted a professional to really get the fur out and make him look nice and feel cooler, and for 110$ I expect that.
She was very nice and I don’t think the groomers are bad people, but I feel like my pups were very rushed through and didn’t get the attention to detail I payed for. They were all just mildly scraggly in the face and my old boy was maybe half done. My groomer offered just 15 dollars off my next grooming appointment (which was a disappointing way to solve the issue) but with the work done I don’t think I’ll be back. The only saving grace was that the body sections of my three little dogs looked decent. Other Than that the grooming was disappointing across all five of my dogs. None of them even had bandanas after the appointment ( yes it’s frivolous, but I saw other pets with them and usually receive the bandana.) Overall I’m just disappointed and upset with...
Read moreBeyond frustrated with the services in the grooming department. I took my small papillon to get a hair cut and bath and was turned away because she had her renewal rabbies shot the day prior. I asked to be rescheduled so we could make sure she got her hair cut. The lady at the counter asked about the next day and if we didn't mind it would be closer to 9 if not a little after due to her having a total of 4 dogs to groom. No big deal to me since I had other things I could do after driving the 30 minutes to this side of town. I noticed a sign said 25% off after 4pm. I asked the lady if that applies to mine she said yes and I asked for each service I wanted and a total she said it would cost $30 roughly. My husband and son both heard her. We took our dog back home and went back the next night and the lady said I missed my appointment... It was just shortly after 6:15. I explained she told me my dog would be last and it would be close to 9 when she would even start/ finish her grooming. I was irritated because I just flew around town trying to get all the ducks in a row to get my dog there for the second day in a row. She said she needed her earlier so she could bath them all then go through the grooming process... She then proceeded to tell me to schedule another day that I can make it there. I told her it won't matter because every day I will be there too late according to her since I was to drop my dog off 4 hours early I guess... I told her I wanted the discount of 25% and she then proceeds to tell me I wouldn't have gotten that with what I wanted... I was livid by this point. What a waste of two days trying to work around this unprofessional "grooming" salon. By the way she said she would have a total of 4 dogs including mine, she had one. ONE dog and she wouldn't accept my dog with her SET appointment for around 9... I do not recommend this groomer. Don't even waste your time calling either. We we're transferred 6 times and everyone I talked to was...
