We visited this First Watch location for the first time today. We normally go to the 168th & Center location, but since we were nearby, we decided to try this one. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
There were four of us in our party. I ordered the Ham & Gruyere omelet, and my daughter told the waitress she wanted the same. When the food came out, we were handed sandwiches (“melts”) instead. This was already the second time we had been brought the wrong food, so my husband told the server we had ordered breakfast, not sandwiches. She took the plates back, but instead of handling it politely, she came back visibly annoyed and told us the omelets would have to be remade and “it’s going to be a while.” A few minutes later, our waitress came to explain the mix-up between the omelet and sandwich. No problem—we understood mistakes happen but we were a bit disappointed that no one apologized for the error.
But when the omelets finally came, the same lady brought them to the table and said, in a condescending tone, “Here are those melts you ordered” (even though they were omelets). It was unnecessarily rude.
To make matters worse, our waitress dropped off the bill and disappeared. She didn’t check if we needed refills, didn’t ask if the food was okay, and didn’t offer boxes for leftovers. When we reviewed the bill, we noticed we were charged twice for the Ham & Gruyere sandwiches instead of omelets (which were slightly more expensive). At that point, I was too frustrated to bother fixing a $1 difference, but the lack of service was unacceptable.
For the record, even if I had ordered the sandwich by mistake, I would expect a server to clarify—especially when there are two similar items on the menu. I would also expect an apology for the mix-up or at least acknowledgment of the wait while the kitchen corrected the order. Instead, we were treated like we were the problem.
The food itself was good, but the poor attitude and lack of service ruined the entire experience. We won’t be returning to...
Read moreWe love First Watch in Aksarben and go most Sundays, so we decided to try the Papillion location today. First we called to check for a table for 7 and were hung up on. When we confirmed, they said its be a 15-20 minute wait. We arrived and checked in about 10 minutes and they said it would be another 15-25 minutes. We waited 40 more minutes and finally were about to be seated. They attempted to put us at the largest table according 12 right by the front door and waiting area. We asked to be moved into the back room at a smaller table that would accommodate up to ten that was in a quieter area. The hostess rolled her eyes and said she couldnt do that. They said they couldn't do that because another table of 10 just checked in online and needed a high chair. The manager was kind and offered another table accommodated for 5 and he would squeeze 2 more chairs in. Knowing that we had essentially waited an hour when we were told 15-20 minutes originally, we had hoped they would try to make an exception and put as at a table to help us enjoy their services and business. Unfortunately, their ability to accommodate didn't meet our needs. We will continue to go to the Aksarben location that is kinder, has shorter wait times and ultimately meets our accommodations better. Readers and Papillion management feel free to judge us poorly for this review how you will, but when we choose a restaurant with a larger group, we want to be able to enjoy conversation as well as space...
Read moreI was to preface this with saying the last time we went here it was wonderful, today however was mid at best. To start, the hostess wanted our name and phone number for a survey, not the wait list. She didn’t even tell us the wait time either when we asked for clarification if we were being put on a wait list. Then once seated, we were at a small table - no issue for 2 people - however the server wouldn’t take the coffee cups away even though we didn’t order coffee, making less room on the table. We typically share a meal so when we ordered the server asked if we wanted an extra plate, to which we said yes. When the food came there was no extra plate so we asked the food runner for one and she said she would get one. She never came back. Our server didn’t come back till about 10ish minutes later but by that point we were already eating the food. Speaking of the food, one of the eggs was entirely, utterly raw. The yolk was not yellow, it was translucent and more gelatin in texture. However, when we went to pay at the front stand we told the older gentleman our concerns and he gave us 20% off our order even though we didn’t ask for a discount. I will probably go again but not...
