New review: date September 9th Update from a 1 star to a 5
My husband explained to me the owner's heartfelt apology and willingness to make amends for the online social media comments that didn't align with the values of her business. As Christians, we believe in treating others with love, kindness, and respect - even when we disagree or make mistakes.
When we returned to the business for a second visit, we were touched by the owner's personal approach to resolving the issue. She took the time to speak with my husband in person which took guts, listen to his concerns, and offer a sincere apology for any offense caused. This act of humility and accountability spoke volumes about her character and commitment to integrity.
As a family who supports small businesses, we appreciate the owner's dedication to excellence and customer service. Her apology meant a lot to us, as it showed that she values her customers and is willing to learn from her mistakes!
We are reminded of the Bible's teachings on forgiveness, humility, and love. In Ephesians 4:32, it says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." The owner's actions exemplified these values, and we are grateful for her example.
Thank you for showing us that even in the midst of mistakes, there is always room for growth, forgiveness, and love. We will continue to support your business and share your story with others!!!!
Old review: Unprofessional Owner Response - A Shameful Display
Rating: 1/5
I'm writing to expose the unprofessional behavior of the owner and to warn others about the poor treatment you may receive. Today, my husband and I picked up our food and even tipped 15%, but the owner's response to my husband's review was the final straw.
The owner's response was a masterclass in unprofessionalism:
They brought another customer (Heather) into the conversation, trying to justify their poor service and imply that in-person orders are more important. They made a passive-aggressive comment about being "busy serving others in line," implying that phone orders are less important. They failed to address the legitimate concerns about phone and website ordering, wait times, and accuracy issues. Their response was condescending, dismissive, and unappreciative, prioritizing being right over making things right.
The owner's actions were a shameful display of unprofessionalism. By bringing Heather into the conversation, they attempted to divide customers and create a false narrative. The comment about serving Heather in person was a thinly veiled attempt to imply that in-person orders are more valuable than phone orders.
We won't be returning due to the owner's extremely rude and sassy response. It's clear that they prioritize being right over customer satisfaction. If you value respect and basic customer service, avoid this restaurant at all costs.
The owner's behavior was a clear example of how not to handle customer feedback. Instead of listening and improving, they chose to attack and belittle. We'll be taking our business elsewhere and encouraging others to do the same. Shame on you, for prioritizing pride over customer...
Read more2 experiences 1 great, 1 not so much. Heard great reviews about this place and finally got in here beginning of the week for lunch. The person at the register was very sweet, and gave me some recommendations. Ultimately went with the honey chipotle sandwich with fried. Food was out to me in about 20 minutes. The fries as ridiculous as it sounds were probably some of the best I have ever had. Loved that they were thicker but still crispy with great seasoning. The sandwich was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Honestly 5 stars all around.
Excited about it and wanting my wife to try it we ordered take out last night. Called in around 7 and I was almost positive they said it would be ready between 8-8:30. Figured it was a long wait, but whatever so we ran a few errands. Got there at 8 and figured I'd check on the food and pay so that when it was ready we could take off. After paying the girl at the counter (same one from the first day) told me she had quoted me 8:30 to 8:45 I was a little caught off guard but gave them the benefit of the doubt because of how well it went the first time and figured I had misheard over the phone. Was a 20 minute drive back home so didn't make sense to leave so I went and sat in my truck. This is where it went downhill... 8:45 rolls around and my wife was using my phone. Got a text notification about my order (didn't open the text because she was in the middle of something but figured it's the end of the quoted time so it's ready). I went in and walked to the counter and a different younger girl confirmed who I was. She then proceeds with a very condescending tone about "in the text I sent you i said 10-15" caught a little off guard I started to explain myself and she cut me off with again with the 10-15 remark. I get it, it was late, they were busy. But I honestly haven't really dealt with such an unjustified patronizing tone like this before. Walked out pretty pissed went and sat in my truck until 9 when they texted me again this time that it was ready. Got my food and left. Driving home we opened it up and was disappointed. The fires this time were probably half of what I had gotten with my first meal. So not sure if I got lucky the first time or that's their standard, but it was barely enough to cover the bottom of the box. The sandwiches were still great and I can't say anything negative about the quality of the food, but the one girl in particular very much has an attitude issue. Will probably try again in the future, but depending how next time goes it might be a last regardless of the...
Read moreA friend recommended Sauced by Alfaro so we decided to check it out. The inside was very small, there was a paper menu taped to the front counter, only a few tiny tables other than the patio out back. My fiancee and I ordered two sandwiches, each with a side of fries, drinks, and the tater tot coquettes. The total was about $35 and I tipped an extra $6 cash since they were clearly busy. They informed us the wait would be about 45 minutes and that’s exactly how long it took.
Since there wasn’t really anywhere to sit, we opted for takeout. This was unfortunately the one time we didn’t check the bag until we got home. They forgot my fiancées sandwich and fries. I called immediately to ask whether they had forgotten to bag it or if they hadn’t made it at all. They didn’t answer until my fifth phone call. When I finally got through, I was informed the sandwich and fries didn’t make the ticket… despite both of us ordering in person, both getting drinks, and them managing to ring up the extra sauce for his (missing) fries.
I asked if they could make the second sandwich and fries as my fiancee was already on his way to pick it up. We live 25 minutes away. That’s almost 2 hours of driving there and home twice, in addition to the almost hour wait for the food to be made, my fiancee also had to wait about 10 minutes upon arrival the second time. I politely asked if they could reimburse us, given we had now lost 3 hours of our evening over this. The person on the phone said they’d have to ask the kitchen and let my fiancee know once he got to the restaurant. They recognized him when he came in and informed him the second sandwich would be $17. Huh? We just spent yet another hour coming back for the restaurants mistake. Choosing not to comp the entire ticket is understandable (though let’s be real, it was the right thing to do), but charging for the sandwich they left off the ticket? Unbelievable. They did offer a free tater tot for the trouble. Gee, thanks. At this point we’d spent more money in gas than what they charge for the tots.
Between the disorganized service, the indifference of the staff, and the complete lack of accountability, this was both our first and last visit to Sauced by Alfaro. You only get one chance to make a first impression — and they charged us...
