This place is a hidden gem! After having a really bad experience at Urban Air in Omaha, my kids and I found Papio's Fun Park online, and it was worth the little bit of a drive! Don't let the size fool you, we had so much fun go carting, playing lazer tag, miniature golfing, playing space ball, playing jump shot, playing arcade games, and the batting cages! The pices are fenominal! All day Wrist bands for $30 and you can do everything except the batting cages which we did as well! The batting cages are nice and really cheap to do! On a 10 day vacation in Omaha my 12 and 14 year old picked this place to keep returning to! They never got tired of all the things to do, and it was way cheaper than anything we did in Omaha! The place is clean, ALL the workers were friendly, accommodating, fun, professional and had great attitudes! My nephew needed sun screen that we had forgotten to take and the girls behind the front desk counter gave him some of theirs to get by! They went above and beyond for us! After being in the customer service business for years I give this place the highest honors in overall customer service in all of Omaha and surrounding areas! They were all great with my kids, and eventho they have younger workers they were all very respectful and doing their jobs! I was very impressed! They all had great attitudes and made sure we all had fun! None of the workers were on their phones and they were all very attentive and always looking for something to do! You can tell the management here knows how to run a business! My kids and I will be back every trip to Omaha! They haven't stopped talking about this place yet! They voted it their number 1 place they liked on our vacation! It is very affordable and fun for all ages! The snacks were really good and at a fantastic price! I really appreciated that! My nephew also lost his little pocket knife that was given to him by his grandpa and one of the workers found it and it was returned! What a great bunch of kids they have helping run that place! The go carts are the best we found on our travels in all of Nebraska! My family is going to rent this place out for a little family reunion and we all can't wait! Everything is well taken care of and parents have areas they can safely watch their kiddos play while staying cool. We loved the outdoor picknic table pavilion by the go carts! Great shade and a great place to relax and have a snack! You get long turns on the go carts and the track is Absolutely awesome! Again, the workers rotate their responsibilities and all of them were very patient and friendly to everyone! For a smaller out of the way place this place packs a big punch & is light on the wallet! We spent 2 days here and never got tired of it! I even brought back my Sister & nephew for the fun! My kids have talked about this place more than anywhere else we went including the Zoo! Bravo to Papio's Fun Park for keeping a great nostalgic business going! I felt like I was a kid again in the good ole days! What a fantastic place! Their goal is for you to have fun and make memories and it shows! Thanks again to the girls who borrowed some of their sunscreen to my nephew and to the young gentleman who returned my nephew's pocket knife! You all deserve 5 Stars! Keep up the Great work! Your customers notice the little things you all do! You made us a lifetime customer! Thanks Again!...
Read moreI would absolutely not recommend this place for birthday parties, or anything, for that matter. I had my daughter's 5th birthday party here and needless to say, I should have stopped in to look at the place before I decided to host here. I purchased the package that was recommended for her age, and was absolutely disappointed by what we received.
They promise a party planner to help set up and clean up. One of the girls running the snack bar checked us in, and then disappeared. We set everything up ourselves. They were relatively helpful if we sought them out, but they didn't offer help other than to ask me, quite rudely: 'So, are you gonna pay, orrrrr....?'
The attractions the kids could choose from were quite bland. The lazer maze was in use the entire two hours we had rented out, and we had to ask if there would be a way for us to put the kids in it as the other attractions were closed due to the weather. The jump attractions seemed small, dirty and a little dangerous for smaller kids. There were two offered, but there was no one supervising the kids and some other rowdier older kids got in with the smaller kids and harassed them until a member of our party stepped in to tell them to stop.
None of the party packages include tokens for the arcade, which is honestly where our kids spent the most time. We spent an additional $100 to play games on top of the party package. Thankfully we didn't order food, because I felt it was incredibly silly for them to overcharge for Pizza Hut pizza, or cheap hot dog/nacho plates.
The park itself is absolutely outdated. It's in a steel building, not unlike a school gym. It was dingy, dimly lit and had a rather unpleasant smell, like stale, sweaty gym clothes. There were maybe six picnic tables. Very small. The outdoor attractions looked very outdated, and the go-karts looked as if they hadn't received maintenance in several years.
The party setup was quite frankly from the dollar store. A flimsy plastic tablecloth, small swirly lollipops and yellow and blue balloons were the advertised 'centerpiece', as well as the 'party favors' the kids received. My daughter's 'birthday gift' was a leaky, cheaply made water bottle with the Papio Fun Park logo on it. Upon going to pay, I asked questions about the invoice. The owner was absolutely astounded I was asking questions about what we were paying for, and seemed extremely put out about the questions we were asking. If you're going to run a business, be prepared for people to ask questions about where their hard earned money is going.
Definitely skip this place if you're looking for a day out with your family. You're more likely to have a hospital trip due to faulty equipment than to come home with a dollar store stuffed animal for...
