Wow… I don’t even know where to start. Our experience at the American restaurant in the NYNY Las Vegas hotel was defined by two orders of mozzarella sticks that couldn’t have been more different. When they arrived, the contrast was immediate—one basket held lighter, golden sticks, while the other was a deep, rich brown. Little did we know, this difference would set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
We began with the lighter mozzarella sticks, which were everything you’d expect—crispy, with a mild cheese pull, and a subtle flavor that was pleasant but unremarkable. They were good, reliable, and offered that familiar comfort we all crave from such a classic appetizer.
But then we turned to the darker mozzarella sticks, and everything changed. From the first bite, it was clear these were in a league of their own. The exterior was perfectly crisp, with a rich, almost smoky flavor that hinted at a longer fry time. The cheese inside was more pungent, more flavorful, with a pull that seemed to go on forever. Each bite was a symphony of textures and tastes—the crunchy coating giving way to gooey, stretchy cheese that was nothing short of mind-blowing.
The darker mozzarella sticks were a revelation. They were bold, intensely savory, and utterly addictive. We couldn’t get enough. While the lighter ones were enjoyable, they paled in comparison to the deep, complex flavors of the darker batch.
In the end, what began as a simple order of mozzarella sticks turned into the highlight of our meal. If you’re dining at the American restaurant in NYNY Las Vegas, don’t miss the mozzarella sticks—especially if you’re lucky enough to get that darker, crispier version. It’s a flavor experience that will leave you...
Read moreHorrible customer service at this location in the New York, New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from the moment I walked in. I went there for breakfast on Thursday, May 30th, just after 6:00a.m., and was greeted by the graveyard/overnight hostess. I wanted to sit in a booth in an area that I thought was open, but when I tried to sit down, "this area is not available ", and she said it a demeaning, mad tone. She literally bit my head off. So when she sat me in an area where servers were available, I was still seated at a table instead of a booth as I requested. TOTALLY RUDE overnight/graveyard hostess. So my server comes around. I tell I need some time to look at the menu, and try to cool down and compose myself after dealing with the rude overnight/graveyard hostess. So another 10 or more minutes pass till the server comes back to my table (granted, there were probably less than 20 customers in the area I was sitting at). So the server finally comes over and takes my order. Probably 15-20 minutes, and my food comes to , I thought. 1) I knew it was not my food because I always order my eggs scrambled, not over easy as the food was brought to me. 2) The server insisted initially that it was my food, but after about a minute, she realized that is was not my food, and gave me the food that I ordered. She did say, "I am sorry", but said it in a very condensing way. The only saving grace was the food, good , but not great. Was not asked for refills on my lemonade that I ordered also. Overall, I give a 3-star rating, which is being generous on my part after the experience with overnight/graveyard hostess. Just for reference: Date of service: 5/30/2024...
Read moreStarted off great, waitress was super amazing (from Hungary), we ordered our drinks and food. It is extremely busy, so we understand the wait, however, almost 45 mins for the food is a bit excessive. We had to ask for our waitress 3 different times to order new drinks, and finally just walked to the bar and ordered there. When the food finally came, the steak my husband ordered was so charred it tasted as if it was set directly on coals. Very gritty and not medium rare as requested, more of a light well done. The eggs Benedict 😞 I took a bite and instantly crunched down on egg shell, which wouldn't have been too big of a deal if it was just a tiny piece. However, it was a half of a whole shell hidden underneath the "poached" egg, which was more or less just an over easy egg, and not poached at all. We requested the waitress again, which didn't happen, and finally requested a manager. She came to the table and asked how we were doing. I asked if she was the manager which she replied with "no, I just walked around to all the tabels and ask how they're doing" sarcastically. Then proceeded to say "oh, I can see you're not smiling, yes I'm the manager". How extremely rude... we explained the situation, and she said she would have it remade. We appreciate the offer, but declined saying we were just going to wait for our drinks and head out somewhere else. When we received our micheladas, we opted to leave them as they tasted like severely watered down beer. No thank you. We appreciate the meal that wasn't eaten comped, and the refund on our drinks, but please, speak with staff regarding lack of care. I wouldn't...
