I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shake Shack in NYNY, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. Here's why Shake Shack deserves a stellar five-star rating:

We love this place!!!! I mean LOVE it!

Tip 1. Order through the mobile app to avoid waiting in the long line. As your walking there from your hotel or the parking lot, start plugging in your order. The line can be over 30 minutes long just to order.

Tip 2. Get the single shake shack burger. If you need more burger. Just get two. Singles. The double is close to $9. They charge almost $4 more for the extra meat patty. The single is $5.55.

Tip 3. If you want extra shake shack sauce or cheesy sauce. Ask for it when you pick up your order. If you order with your meal, they up charge you. If you ask for more sauces at pick up they normally just give it to you.

Tip 4. Shroom without the burger is terrible. Be sure to get the portobello mushroom WITH the burger.

Tip 5. BBQ burger is good, but the hot dog, and chicken burger is NOT!

Tip 6. Loaded fries are good, but ask for everything on the side. The pickled cherry peppers aren't my favorite. It has an off sour taste. Vinegary. Some may like it, I don't.

Just keep it simple here and don't get sold on their fancy burgers. The best is the original single stack and regular fries. Add the cheese sauce on the side or add the fried portobello cheesy mushroom thing to the burger. Again the BBQ burger is good, but not better than the original.

I'm not a fan of their shakes or custards but many seem to like it. Sometimes they take so long to bring it out, the shakes are half melted. Get another one if that's the case.

On a Friday night a group of myself and 5 others went to Shake Shack and waited for over 1.5 hours to get our food. There were no warnings on how long it would take, no updates along the way, no apologies for the wait, no free fries, etc. There was also no offers for refunds for how long it took to get our food.

We all understood it was busy but perhaps allowing every kiosk order and mobile order through with no warnings of wait time is not a good idea. The manager and crew were put in an impossible situation to provide decent service. It was after midnight and we were all on vacation so this took away from our valuable vacation time having fun in Vegas. At one point we walked up to the front to ask for a refund and were ignored by all the employees. We actually decided to not ask for a refund because it would take away from their time finishing orders for the other 50+ people waiting. By the time we got our food it was cold and the milkshakes were nearly melted.
