Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Paramount

My husband and I went there went for lunch And we had A great experience the cashiers there were very friendly; There was a lady walking around getting plates and giving clean ones to everybody she was very friandly. I thought it was great experience knowing that there was kids running around and not caring about other people but they were still so friendly and one kid spilled catch up all over the floor and this lady named Matilde Rogel Diaz Is an amazing lady; She just cleaned it up like it was nothing the kid didn't even say sorry or even letting someone know he did that; Knowing that someone could have easily slipped and fell, but this lady thankfully saw it right away.This place has an amazing staff that go over and beyond for their customers it is an older place but that doesn't mean it's a bad place the lady was older and she was so kind to go to every single table and check up on every single person To make sure that they had enough plates and she would take their dirty ones away and if they needed a new cup she would give them a new cup she was just so kind to everybody couldn't even say one mean thing about her she reminded me of my grandma that had passed away a sweet old lady that just wanted to please everybody. I believe a place Like this; people should be leaving tips I know it's optional but these people are working hard to provide great service and it doesn't kill people to leave even a dollar that $1 can go a long ways my husband and I decided to give the cashiers And the servers to show how much we were pleased and not because we had to because we wanted to show our gratitude on how hard they were working and how nice they were. I give a lot of credit to the cooks also that's a very small kitchen and they do a great job. I usually don't reviews ever because I'm always afraid someone's either gonna get hurt by a review or get in trouble I know it helps the business out but I wanted to leave this review because we've gone to many places expensive cheap you name it but this place I feel that they really do go over and beyond For their customers So they can have the...

My brother, granddaughter (4 y.o.) and I visited this location on June 30, 2014 for the pizza, chicken and mojo potatoes special. When we arrived, we noticed that many of the tables were dirty. I wondered where we would sit to eat our food. We approached the employee, (whose name I truly regret not getting) and asked him about the special. We were told the special was no longer being honored. In an effort to save money, we asked if there were any other specials offering the same food items for less than what was on the menu. The employee proceeded to tell us about two other package deals on the menu...that were $12 and $17 dollars more. I politely explained that we were looking to pay less, not more. This statement went right over his head - no comprehension whatsoever. He clearly could care less. After we ordered, the employee returned to one of the clean seats/tables and proceeded to play with his phone. Mind you, there were plenty of tables he could have cleaned, but that clearly was not his concern. He sat there the entire time, only to get up twice to ring up two separate customers who came in.

On to the meal itself: I can only say that it was freshly out of the oven. The taste however, was a different story. The chicken was extremely salty, I took two bites and couldn't eat anymore. My granddaughter, spit it out - this girl eats everything - so I knew it wasn't only me. The pizza was hands down the worst I've ever tasted. The dough was thick and completely tasteless - I mean less taste than an unsalted cracker. The toppings were pepperoni, cheese, and sausage were the worst quality I've ever tasted - very chewy, tasted like packaged food and no taste to them at all. There was simply no flavor to the food at all. Yes, I could have complained, but honestly, by the lax attitude of the cashier. I chose not to fight this battle so I took my losses of this overly priced, disgusting food and vowed never to return.

My husband put in an order through their website for delivery, PAID for the delivery then we waited for about an hour before calling (husband said whoever answered spoke Spanish, didn't exactly switch when it was obvious the other person didn't speak it) so I called and they said there was an order for us but hadn't been picked up. We figured DoorDash (whom they export their deliveries with) hadn't found a driver yet. More time passes by & we're getting frustrated and call back and are essentially told the same. We call DoorDash and there's no record of the order obviously since we didn't order through them & it wasn't sent to their services. We decide to drive there and pick up our order, but called to be sure they didn't throw it out. A much different response this time as Saul said there wasn't an order there for us even going as far as saying he isn't sure what's happening (it's busy, I get it), but reassures me that he's going to see what he can do as he suddenly finds out order after acting like we never ordered there. I'm on hold for at least 10 minutes before the line goes dead and hangs up. My husband calls right after that and again, after some reassurance he's going to speak to his boss it hangs up.
