Mckee's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Paris

Being from a small town, I love visiting local cafes instead of the big box restaurants that serve the same food you can get anywhere. I was excited to discover McKee's close to where we were staying. I was even more excited when we walked in and there was a board advertising a Friday fried fish special. I got the 3 piece fried fish that comes with French fries, hush puppies and Cole slaw. My wife got "adult chicken strips". The best I can say about the food is that it's very "industrial". It's like if someone saw food for the very first time and tried to recreate it in a lab, flash freeze it, send it somewhere to be reheated and served. It technically looked like food I guess, but tasted like all the joy of actual food stripped away. My 3 piece fried fish was 1 piece of "fish" and two leftover nubs, maybe half the size of a credit card; maybe barely the size of one piece if you put the two together, if I was being extremely generous. Fine by me, because it wasn't great. I can't even describe what the tarter sauce was like. I've never seen anything quite like it. It didn't appear safe to eat. My wife's "adult chicken strips", were the same industrial quality, food-like without any love. Not even a child would enjoy them. The service was friendly enough and the best thing I can mention about the place. If this is representative of local, small town cafe dining in 2025, count me out. I don't remember the last time I had such an unpleasant dining experience. Definitely not anywhere near worth almost $30 with tip. Stay...

My friends and I ate here on 5/15/2018 at 1am. We drove all the way from Mt.Pleasant to eat here. There were four of us and two of my friends had never eaten here before. We had the best customer service experience here. Nickki our waitress was very attentive kind and professional to us. She never slacked off and brought refills on our beverages and was very good all the way around. I had the chopped steak. And it was delicious. The grilled honey buns were out of this world. The four of us ate for $34 including drinks. Prices are fair. WAY BETTER THAN FAIR!!!! $6.09 FOR A CHICKEN FRIED SEE IS SO REASONABLE. OUR WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS SUPERB. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. NICKKI MADE A VISIT A FASCINATING EXPERIENCE!!!!! YOU CAN TELL THE OWNERS TAKE PRIDE IN WHO THEY CHOOSE TO BE SERVERS AND COOKS!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA. If I could give 0 stars I would but of course you don’t have that option. My husband and I stood there for 30 minutes while we watched them pit everyone at a table that came in literally after us!!

Why write down names if you’re not even going to go by the list. If you’re going to go by a list you should be calling names out in the order and sitting your customers down.

Horrible customer service, so we decided to leave I told the front cashier to take my name off the list. You have taken everyone to a table that came in after us!! She argued with me saying she has gone by the list. Okayy then, I guess I’m the blind one and I didn’t just watch you sit everyone down who walked in after us. SMH

If you can’t even follow through with a simple task then how is the business dine the rest of way? Are they actually getting customers orders out in the correct order…or just placing them in whatever order they choose because they can’t keep?
