Okay, guys. Theyâve finally ruined Steak ân Shake. I was devastated when I walked in today and learned that they got rid of their waitress position. When I lived in Knoxville, they turned shake and steak into a fast food place. My favorite waitress was forced to leave because she could no longer make as much money through tips and was too old to learn the new systems. Sheâd been there since I was in middle school. Iâm now in my thirties. I was delighted to find out the one in Paris, TN was full service when we moved here a few months ago. I absolutely adore the staff, but a lot of them have (once again) been forced to leave. Workers deserve better than this. They deserve better than having their companies switch up their jobs and duties at the drop of a hat. Even if theyâve raised the pay at all for former waitresses, it will still come nowhere near what they were making with tips. Their customers deserve better than to walk into the restaurant and have their expectations of how their experience normally goes dashed. They have a âtip the crewâ system in place, but thatâs split between the whole crew and many donât even qualify to share in that system based on their hours. I wish there was some way to protest or boycott places that act this way, but the customers and employees both understand that the corporation doesnât care about any of our opinions or wants. In the face of developing AI and more automated systems, this shows that the corporations donât care about ensuring that their employees feel safe and secure in their jobs. Itâs incredibly depressing to feel like just a cog in a system. Itâs insanely frustrating and I think we should all be speaking out against...
Read moreWow! Super impressed with this location. Kitchen and wait staff are killin' the game.
Especially the waitress Daniell. Give her so much $$$. Great conversationalist, super sweet and funny and attentive to our needs before we even realized them. Brought us ice, a pitcher of drink, and so many lemons.
I got my usual, Frisco melt with caramelized onions, sweet tea, cajun fries, Nutella shake. It was as if every component was optimized for my liking. The sourdough was so toasty and buttery, the onions soft and rich, the beef patties thicker, the Frisco sauce sweeter, the cajun fries just the right proportion of crunchy versus limp, the little wispy veins of Nutella in the shake had an otherworldly texture. I ate an hour before I got here so I wasn't just exceptionally hungry.
Not from Paris, but I would go out of my way to come here again. Hope everyone involved in running this place is paid handsomely and treated...
Read moreThis evening was a much better experience at the Paris franchise Steak & Shake. There were nine of us in our party.
We did not have to wait to be seated in the dining area. Our hostess took our drink orders as we waited for the remainder of our party to arrive at the establishment. Our beverages were delivered to us. When the remainder of our party arrived we ordered our food.
The food was delivered hot and delicious. The food was prepared to our specifications. Each guest was satisfied with the presentation and the taste of our food.
After dinner, we continued to visit with one another. We each ordered dessert to round out our meal. During our meal our waitress and the staff remained attentive to the beverages and continued to fill the glasses at the table, as we desired.
This visit was a vast improvement over the last visit. The service was a great...
