UPDATED AT BOTTOM OF REVIEW. CHANGED FROM 2 STARS TO 4.

We went in and thought it was good. We usually eat there and enjoy our experience. My sister went with me this time. She's gluten free- her body is intolerant and she'll get extremely sick if she has even a little amount. She told the waiter she didn't want the biscuits with her food because she can't have them. He asked if it was a gluten allergy and she informed him it was and that although not a deadly allergy, she does get super sick and has to avoid it. He then informed her that the BROCCOLI they order and comes pre-seasoned contains gluten in the seasoning. She was highly disappointed but wound up just ordering the corn. Again, we thought it was all okay at this point. We ate our food, looked around the store, then left. Later that evening my sister started getting super sick. It didn't make sense because she knew she didn't eat any of her trigger foods (ie gluten). She got curious and wanted to double check the ingredients of the grilled chicken tenders, corn and rice she'd eaten at Cracker Barrel. Turns out, ONLINE it's listed there's gluten in the RICE... no where on the menu at the table did it say there was gluten in the broccoli or rice. She only knew about the gluten in the broccoli because the waiter knew. She thought she was safe because upon looking over the menu etc, it stated she was. I messaged CB they'd the app and chatted with a rep a few days after. Although they were nice, they didn't resolve anything. They said they'd give the feedback and issue over to the right people and that they'd message me. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I would have thought the fact they made a customer sick due to their lack of communication would be a priority. I can only hope they reach out ASAP and that they change a few things so that no more customers get sick or so that no one dies due to this lack of communication and information they provide AND from the lack of knowledge of their wait staff.

UPDATE I got contacted by a Corporate Customer Service Rep. She asked me to explain what happened. I told her what I typed in above. She apologized and explained a few things that will help us next time. They did fully refund our visit and compensate us (for full transparency).

So basically on the menu it states if you have a food allergy to alert the waiter before ordering. The Rep told me that you can always ask for a manager because they can not only take your order but can go in the back and check ingredient lists. She also said on the back of the menu is a QR code you can scan and it takes you directly to the website and list of allergies and ingredients.

My aunt & I went back a few weeks ago now and happened to get the same waiter. It had been a few weeks by then. I explained everything to him and educated him with what we were told. At that point in time, 2 weeks ago now (at least), he hadn't been told or made aware of everything yet. I was able to educate him as well with what Customer Service told me. He was again, amazing, and so very helpful and nice. He apologized several times about what happened with my sister as he felt really badly she got so sick.

I not only recommend you visit Cracker Barrel but remember they are great with customer service from the waiters all the way up to corporate. So enjoy! I hope you're able to learn from our experience about food allergies and...

We ordered the Sunday Special.,Maple Bacon Chicken w/Ribs. We had Mashed Potatoes and Corn. Also tea to drink. We Always Split our meals as well. The Small piece of Chicken was “grilled” but so tough we couldn’t cut it with a fork or a regular table knife, we had to use a serrated knife to even cut it to split! Also, it had one small piece of very curled up tough bacon on it, and the “so called Maple” looked, smelled and tasted like they may have just poured a couple of Tablespoons of one of their tiny bottles of maple Sryup on it. The ribs, was a piece of 3 ribs that were so not only tough, but somewhat very crusty on the outer edges, a knife could not cut it..my husband finally used the serrated knife to start on a split one one end and had to yank it apart! Chicken and ribs neither had much flavor, pretty bland..and our plate had a very small portion of Mashed potatoes, that when we split, gave us each maybe 4 teaspoon fulls each..they too were different..not the usual big fluffy scoop of “stick to your ribs” potatoes like they used to have..they were almost the consistency of instant boxed potatoes..and very flat taste. The corn was all of two spoonfuls for each of us. We were so hungry, had been at Volleyball Tournament all day and starving…so we ate, I lefts over half mine on the plate, my husband ate almost all of his. But we decided since this and the meal before that, the last time we stopped thru Wichita…well, probably won’t go back..not the same “great tasting” flavors we remembered from times before we had been there, and not Nearly the Portions one used to get either! But they have made sure the Prices we UP! Yes I have a membership/ rewards with Cracker Barrel…but not so sure we will be back there for awhile! Very disappointed with our meal!! The service was Ok, but there were a just a very few other folks in there, when we got there, and they had just ordered as we were seated…there was 4 at there table..us and all have of them had been waiting for at least 30 minutes before OUR food came, and they did not get theirs until after us!! There was one other couple that we could see, and maybe 4 cars outside.. really sad, the place IS NOT what it was! Even the staff in the lobby was not friendly like they all used to be, and there was only one cashier, and 2 standing around in the “gift shop” area, but they literally called someone else from the back to come take our money! Not Pleased at all with this trip to there!!! Not at all! Oh and I almost forgot 2 tiny cornbread muffins that tasted like they were from the day before, not even warm, and food was also barely warm also. Sorry but just really disappointed this time! Hope they can improve and become as good as...

Park City location... one word, Terrible. Bad service, manager 0 help..bad food. First, I ordered the Grandpas country fried breakfast.. attempted to get hash brown casserole and substitute baked apples instead of grits.. which I've done several times before., usually it's never a problem. Evidently this time it was. This time if I wanted to do it I would have to pay a dollar and some change up charge to have it traded. Never been charged for that substitution before. So I didn't do it, ended up with ice-cold hashbrown casserole and grits that look like rubber cement. The Grits had such a thick rubbery film on the top I literally had to peel it back, I tasted it and didn't touch it after that, it was gross. I took a bite of the hash brown casserole only to determine it was ice cold, the gravy on my chicken fried steak and that came with my biscuits and gravy was also a luke warm gloppy mess. I ate my chicken fried steak, and the waitress said the so-called manager was bringing me out a "brand new piece of hashbrown casserole." When she gave it to me I pointed out the nasty grits, in which she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Which when it came out it tasted like the other one just microwaved, but at least it was warm, so I ate it. The biscuits were terrible, ate one of two, left the rest. I asked for a refill on my iced tea twice never did get a refill. Needless to say I won't return to that Cracker Barrel, I'll go to the one out west. Where the people out there are nice, the food is hot and good, and I don't get servers with attitude and managers that lie to me....Update: today was the same as above except this time it was the eggs instead of the hash brown casserole. They were so over cooked I sent them back. Save your money and go down the road to Auntie C's..better service and MUCH...

On 08/10/2023, I had to get my car serviced from a nearby dealer. So, at about 845 AM, I walked over to Cracker Barrel for breakfast by myself. Walked in the store and was pleasantly greeted by fun halloween decorations. The host greeted me promptly, told me about the special biscuit Benny and seated me right away. Right as I sat down I was greeted by a huge smile from my server Danyeal. She seemed excited to see me, making me think we had meet before, even though I know we hadn't. Danyeal asked what I would like to drink and made coffee pretty convincing as she held a coffee pot with hot steam coming out. So I had some coffee and water. After a while, I ordered the build your own breakfast with 2 over easy eggs, 2 biscuits that come with a side of sausage gravy, meat sampler (bacon, sausage and ham) and a side of fried apples. After about 5 minutes, my good was brought to me hot and fresh. All the food was amazing, for about $9 and the endless coffee for about $3. Danyeal checked on me a couple times, along with the manager checking on me once, which I appreciated. Food was great, service was greater, and the cleanliness was impeccable. I have 1 downside about Cracker Barrel which is out of the resterunts control, and that is the atmosphere. I'm not a huge country music fan, which us all they played, but that's fine. The bigger issue was that I sat half a room away from a table of 2 old men having a loud conversation about politics. The whole room was obligated to hear them talk. If it was just a one time thing I understand but this is the stereotype of Cracker Barrel unfortunately. Otherwise, I had a great experience at breakfast, for breakfast.

It was the first time I'd ever tried a Cracker Barrel while travelling around the US. After taking some time looking around Coronado Heights Castle, I was looking for somewhere good to eat and thought I'd give here a go. First impressions were good, with plenty of seating/rocking chairs outside, if you're waiting for a table or just want to take the weight off your feet for a short while. For saying it was a Sunday, I didn't have to wait at all to be seated by the pleasant restaurant staff. Loved the interior and the decor, the various things on the wall. Had those genuine country vibes going on. Lisa, my server, was fabulous! She was SUPER friendly and pleasant from beginning to end, asking me about where I was from and my trip, making really polite conversation and taking a genuine interest. I decided on the meatloaf, with sides of mac 'n' cheese, mashed potato and steamed broccoli (also got a freshly made biscuit with apple butter... The BEST!!) The portion size was great and the meatloaf was really tasty (impressed with how good it was!) Lisa asked periodically how everything was and checked to see if I was okay, sorting me out another soda once mine had almost gone. And the most impressive thing, was the price!! I can't believe what good value it was, for all that I had. Certainly hit the spot very nicely, and I cannot thank Lisa enough for her warm hospitality and brilliant customer service! If you're in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, this is the place to go!!!
