My wife a and I stayed here the last weekend of March 2017 to attend the REO Speedwagon concert at Hartman Arena. The location is great and rooms are clean. That is about the only positive thing I can say. First of all, the hotel kitchen caught on fire at 3 something in the morning and we had to evacuate out into the freezing rain. An employee had accidentally started the fire and then put it out herself without calling the fire department. The alarm had gone off and we were told by staff that the alarm company had called and asked if the fire was out. So, no need to call the fire department. Meanwhile, the building was filled with chemical smelling smoke and Quality Inn staff says it's ok to return to our rooms. What a joke. The smoke made my wife and several others sick. We wanted to leave but couldn't as there was nothing else available in the area, they wouldn't refund my money then and home was a 5+ hour drive (not gonna happen at 3AM when you're soaking wet from standing in the rain and sick from smoke inhalation). Later that morning I went to the desk and asked for my money back from the owner who was VERY RUDE! After I had to explain why I wanted my money back he says 'No. That's not how it works here.' This badgering went on for approximately 20 minuets before he agreed to refund half. I also contacted Choice Hotels International to make a formal complaint and make them aware of the situation but never got a return e-mail or phone call. Overall, I believe the company to be incompetent and extremely unprofessional. We will never set foot in another...
Read moreThis was to be an overnight stay during a couple's road trip in SEPTEMBER 2022. We were NOT ABLE to STAY here, and this review is a warning. I'm rating this hotel poorly because of the trouble I had trying to contact the property directly to get some questions answered that were not addressed on the poorly maintained website. Thus we were UNABLE to stay.||Upon calling the hotel directly during its local business hours, I was hung up on twice. This is not normal procedure for IHG properties. Without the information I was looking for, it was impossible to book my stay. I called IHG and waited through three foreign language speakers before I got to someone in the Philippines who spoke passable English. As a side note, when a corporation sends its customer service department offshore, it is a LOUD comment about what they think of their customers: not worth American attention.||The IHG representative was also not able make to make direct contact with the hotel, which says something even more negative.||I did learn from TA reviews that most of the guests were inconvenienced by serious reconstruction and remodeling issues and this was confirmed by the IHG representative: guests going through 2 rooms before one was found to be acceptable, having no TV service and the pool being closed, and construction debris all over the hallways providing an accident-prone condition. The finished rooms were pleasant, but the older ones were substandard. The remodeling will not be finished until well after Labor Day. ||If you are planning to stay here,...
Read moreWe arrived on Friday June 7th and left on the 9th. We had 3 rooms, 1 for my parents, 1 for my wife and I, and 1 for our kids.
Everything was easy for the check in. When our kids got to their room the TV didn't work. They had sound but no picture. We told the front desk about it on Saturday morning and it was the same on Saturday night. So the kids were a little bummed out they never had a picture.
On Saturday morning we went to the breakfast. The sign on the wall said the breakfast was open till 9:30 but they closed it down a little before 9. I was there at 8 and took the last 2 biscuits in the pan and had some gravy. The biscuits were never restocked and they just took the pan that the biscuits and the pan for the gravy away. Also around 8 AM they ran out of pancake batter for the pancake machine and they never restocked that either. I figured with an over an hour left in the breakfast they would restock things that ran out and my family would have some. I was wrong. The workers that Saturday morning were more interested in eating themselves than stocking the breakfast for their guests. Very disappointing.
On Sunday the 9th they had basically the same breakfast and the guy working did a wonderful job restocking items when they got low. He was working hard at the front desk and the breakfast area. Props to him.
So it wasn't a bad stay, but definitely could have been a whole lot better. The breakfast Saturday was just disappointing, and the kids TV not working wasn't a deal breaker, but could have had a...
