Was coming down south bound on Emerson from I-77 abt 5pm yesterday, while driving toward intersection of Emerson & Rosemar was thinking of getting some thing for dinner, question was, go in and set, make quick inside pickup or threw drive thru, almost to intersection happen to look to right and seen “China Kitchen” setting back in corner of plaza past gas station, made decision to turn right on Rosemar and right into plaza and head to China Kitchen for first time. It seems this china restaurant stays busy i guess due to intersection and traffic in area, walked in most of all these type restaurants are all about the same on inside couple to few tables, dining areas lil small, it is understandable not many customers hangs around to eat here usually take-out. The front cashier was nice and quick on her feet to get all customers orders and taken care of, i do have to say did not have to wait long at all to get my order, i think i was only there about 8 minutes but it was a small simple order.
My order was: •Cheese “Huidun” Wonton’s • Egg Rolls
The food was Good & was Cooked, Prepared correctly i had no problems with the food or taste at all, the pricing was wright on mark and no matter what when i do a inside pickup order any where i always give a $8-$10 tip, just think that...
Read moreI have lived in Parkersburg for 10 months now and I have been to several of the Chinese restaurants in the area in search of the best tasting version of my favorite dish, Mongolian Beef. All the restaurants serve it but they all fail spectacularly in delivering in both flavor and spiciness. But China Kitchen delivered. The menu stated it was sliced beef with onions and scallions in "Chef's special hot sauce". I had zero expectations that it would be anything other than the traditional soy-based brown sauce with added chili flakes for heat. I even made sure to grab a handful of hot sauce packets as I just knew it was going to be yet another letdown. Boy was I wrong. The sauce was flavorful and didn't taste like it came out of a bottle. And the heat. Yeah, it's not mouth scorching, but it was there. It reminded me what this dish is supposed to be. My only complaint was there was way too much onion and scallions and not enough beef. I think I had maybe 10 pieces of beef, for a total of maybe 3 ounces. For $9 I expect a bit more. I only tried this as I wasn't too hungry but you can bet I'll be back to try some...
Read moreThe food is always good and there are many choices available. I've eaten here for over 8 years and have never had a bad order. I've never eaten in their small dining area so I have no opinions on that aspect. Unfortunately they began raising their prices beginning at the start of Covid-19 much, much higher than any eat in or take out place in the MOV...and they have continued to raise prices again much more than local competitors. It's a shame because the food is good, but the level of greed from overpriced food has led me to discontinue ordering here. I can feed my family at the areas best sit down place for comparable prices this place charges for what should be moderate to...
