2022, 2nd chance update:
this review is about a week delayed but needed to be posted. It was not a busy time they had four booths active with most of them having their orders....a local restaurant that I used to adore went back twice the first time over $50 chicken take out it was delicious they didn't include any condiments or plastic where the second time I gave them another chance as I felt it was going downhill customer service wise we had to leave because my son forgot his flip flops and so I ordered a quick to go for my twin granddaughters 5 years old ...mac and cheese and a side of fruit for a package deal apparently almost $12 with tax for a 5 year old each I waited 45 minutes told them I was going to want a refund as I had to pay in advance if it was going to take longer she went back to check same waitress that had not included the cutlery for the to go order weeks ago (when I called to complain about not getting honey butter etc with our order she said napkins silverware and condiments had to be requested because they cost money, you think a $50 order for two people would have covered that) and she came out with my order there was nothing special about it like a cup of canned peaches diced and a cup of boxed mac and cheese I was mortified as we had just been to the Black Bear diner the day before and for under $5 we had cub pancakes with strawberries and chocolate chips and an apple juice. I will never return to anglia's again after two attempts and failed service 45 minute wait for instant mac and cheese almost $12 for one order 5-year-old child menu. given I did not check the price because I didn't not think a child's mac and cheese order would be that outrageous. I no longer recommend this place
Earlier 2022 fail: (used to adore this place) telephoned after bringing my to-go order home because there were no napkins no cutlery no salt or pepper packets no honey for the roll no butter for the roll completely bare bones $65 worth of product ordered and a gratuity. was told that they don't include that unless customers ask because it cost money seriously not even a napkin for two two piece fried chicken baskets, coleslaw berry pie mashed potatoes and gravy? and two pecan sticky buns for later .... always been happy with the food not so much tonight today with the to...
Read moreAfter a successful PT visit, let’s hope the healing is heading in the correct direction this time, it was time for breakfast. It had been a long time since we had eaten at Anglea’s and I can’t say why we hadn’t gone back. Clearly, that has been a bad decision on our parts.
We were warmly greeted upon entering and immediately seated at a table. Menus are on the table, but we were asked right what we would like to drink. We both requested ice water and coffee and I was happy they also have French Vanilla creamer.
The menu is huge with many mouth watering items. I vacillated between chicken fried steak or chicken and waffles. After learning I could choose the chicken pieces, I went for the chicken and waffles, picking 2 wings and a breast. It also came with 2 eggs which I chose to have scrambled.
Ray ordered the waffle breakfast with a sausage patty and eggs. Of course when given the opportunity to add strawberries and whipping cream, it was a resounding yes.
Meryl, our server, was a real hoot with lots of personality. So was the other server whose name I did not catch. She had no problem bringing more coffee and refilling our water glasses, instead of ONLY servicing her tables. I saw both of them taking care of all of the other patrons in the restaurant.
Meryl informed me, when I made my selection, the chicken would take some time to prepare as it is cooked to order. That was fine with me. When it arrived at the table it was obvious, as it was fresh and piping hot.
Ray’s waffle was covered in fresh, red, ripe strawberries. They were not pale and tired looking.
Everything was delicious. Ray is a HUGE fan of carrot cake. I ordered a slice to go, so he will be having it with his dinner tonight. I will edit my review once he has tasted it.
The decor is sort of ‘50’s style but nothing is old and outdated. The chairs may look like the ‘50’s but they are definitely NOT old, tired or worn out.
Our meal was wonderful and we will definitely be back. The entire restaurant was clean, bright, shiny, very welcoming and appealing. Thank you for a wonderful...
Read moreI honestly would love to give this place a zero, especially after the way I just got treated by the waitress.. i ordered a French dip. There's hardly any meat on the sandwich. I got the soup to go with it. Clam chowder, it tasted like flour, paste. Nothing else I brought that to her attention. She's like, oh really? I said I don't want it because you're not even going to try the sandwich. I said not even attempt it. She's like have a nice day... Have more respect for your customer... And honestly, how can you not prep fresh food? In a small place like this pre ordered pre cooked corned beef pre cooked roast beef.. for the prices what a joke.. not to mention the last time I came here to buy a whole pie. The lady the same waitress from today. How'd you poke it to make sure it was something that it was so not only did I get a pie with a freaking poke hole in it Because she didn't know what it was when it was. Supose to be on hold that was last year for.fathers day was last time i was here .. after today ill never come back, never recommend it. Hope it gets shut down. And I told the people that were sitting next to me.Be careful of your food because it is truly that nasty. As a chef, this is horrible for a small little place. What a disappointmentThe owners should...
