Samosky's Home Bakery — Restaurant in Parma Heights

Well where do I start. First I’m going to say I am officially DONE With Samoskys Bakery. They sell 2 maybe 3 day old pastries, as fresh. They are NOT. nothing is the same size every lady lock. Has runny fillings. They should be thick , dense, without biting into it and the cream is running out of the sides. The back. The poppyseed butterflies are way over priced for something that chocks you. All pastries should be the same size. Have the same fillings . I’m soooooo disappointed in them now. Bought my last pastry from them today. I ask the guy. Are these fresh or from Tuesday. The weekend. His respond. No we made them 3 months ago …. Who says that to a customer!!! They cant look you in the face and truthfully say they’re fresh. When they are not. You go in on a Tuesday morning. ( this is what really gets me ) the only counter that is full is the cookies 🤷🏻‍♀️, the cupcakes … maybe 7 in the display area. The Kolaches, ( small and big ones ) are from the weekend. I was in there Saturday just before closing , and what was left Saturday was being put in the display area as they were opening up on Tuesday . Figure 8s. Oml. Soooo much dough and a pinch of filling . Who puts 3 different pastries on one pan. If they’re fresh. I’m sry. I’m done. Last week I bought 3 things came to $7.75. Tuesday I bought the same 3 things. $10.25. I ask the lady. Whoa big price gab I said when did u up the price. She says. Awhile back. I told her last week the same 3 things were $7.75. And today over ten bucks, SHE just looked at me. Then says.who ever it was undercharged...

I went back home for my sister's passing and was happy to see that in spite of all the COVID stuff that they were still open and their wares were selling like hot cakes. I recently moved to NC and asked if they shipped and they said yes. Fast forward a couple of months and I called to make an order and the "new" owners weren't even interested in shipping and told me it would cost more to ship than what the items were worth. ??????????? Wow, sounds like the kids took over and don't want to be bothered. Or, the new owners can't keep up. Sad. My BIL lives right around the corner, I guess I'll see if he can ship me something. Maybe I'll get lucky and visit in the next few months and they'll be open and then I can share this review directly with them. So much for wanting some "feel good"...

If you have not been to this wonderful bakery then you do not know what you're missing out on! Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio now a Dallas gal this is iconic establishment is THE best bakery!

I order from them and they ship it to my house safe and sound.My favorite thing to order from Samosky's is their nut roll with raisins. The flaky delicious pastry reminds me of my Hungarian grandmother who used to make it every year. Now that my grandmother is gone I can still order delicious baked goods and remember all the wonderful times I had with her.

Every time I come to Cleveland I pick up bake goods and take them to various family members when visiting. I wouldn't dream of going to any other bakery!
