I used to go here for breakfast, it was OK. But...not the best cheap breakfast I ever had. So, I decided to try them for dinner. I ordered the spaghetti and meatball meal and my mom ordered liver and onions. Comes with salad and rolls. We get the salad and its literally a bowl of soggy lettuce with a slice of cucumber and their "Italian" dressing poured on top. Sorry, nope, just oil. Yuck. The rolls were stale and cold with hard butter. Yippee! With that being said....YAY cant wait for the meal! (Eye roll). The liver was basically a hockey puck with burnt onions on top. The spaghetti was mushy with what looked like BBQ sauce on top. Tasted like tomato paste and curry. Absolutely horrible. I took one bite of the meatball, which had no flavor, and sent it back. My mom asked for a box to take it home, so she could fix it into something edible. I didn't eat. The bill comes and they didn't remove the meal that had 1 bite removed. Im sorry but what restaurant doesn't remove a meal the patron doesnt eat!!! We complain to the waitress and she gets the owner. The owner tells us its not her fault we dont like it (what!??) and says she will give us a couple dollars off. We say no that's unacceptable. It wasnt eaten. She proceeds to RAISE HER VOICE at us saying the same thing, I have to leave before I jump over the dirty counter at this ludacris person. My mother had to handle it from that point. The angry, rude woman took $4 off a $18 dollar bill. Needless to say, we will NEVER be back!!! What a shame for such a long time...
Read moreJust had dinner at the Whip. Got their perch and shrimp. Coleslaw was tasty, mashed potatoes are instant and not very tasty, perch was foul tasting, and shrimp was spoiled. Complained that the fish was undercooked as did the gentleman sitting at the table next to me. They took our food back to the kitchen and refried it. Never had that happen before. The shrimp was unlike any shrimp I've ever eaten before. Owner refused to remove meal from our check - only took off $2.00. Big deal! Cocktail sauce had been frozen and was cold and congealed when served with the meal. Waitress told me where owner was sitting and I couldn't resist voicing my frustration. She didn't care and felt that the food was perfectly fine. And, this is NOT a mom and pop owned diner although it probably was at one time. It is now owned by a very rude Indian woman and her Indian husband was the cook. What is acceptable for them to eat is very different from what their customers expect. The frozen cocktail sauce tells me they don't throw away food and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they would reheat and serve my uneaten fish pieces to another customer. All I can say is beware of this place because in addition to the filthy surroundings, you are taking your health into your own hands if you eat in this place. Oh, I wonder what the kitchen looks like if the dining room is so dirty. Maybe the health department should pay...
Read moreCan't honestly tell you what's going on here but it seems as if the end is near. 5 p.m. on a Saturday night and there was never more than 6 customers. There was one person running everything, and poorly at that. She could make the veal cutlet dinner but did not know how to make the veal cutlet sandwich. She couldn't make a double cheeseburger but could make a 2nd cheeseburger meal and I could throw the bun away and put the burger on top of the other if I wanted too. Um what? We placed a to go order of 2 stuffed cabbage (which were very good) before we got our bill. Those were put on a separate bill because she did not know how to add it to the original bill. ( HER words not mine). The pop with our meals was completely flat and definitely didn't taste like Pepsi products in any way. This was truthfully one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. I'm giving this a two only because the 2 people who ordered the stuffed cabbage and chicken dumpling soup said it was as good as ever. Minus the home fries which were a soggy mass of potatoes thrown on the flat top until they showed some color. My best advice is stay away for 3 months and see if they are still there. Maybe things will straighten out. Then...
