I tried this place out because it had a 4.0 overall score and a sushi buffet.
When we get in, the host tells us about hot pot being included for $23.99. $24 for hot pot, sushi, and buffet seems like a good price.
The buffet part is probably one of the top worst Chinese Buffets I have ever had. They had some good stuff, like the Chinese donuts and the dessert section. Some stuff was fresh, while the plantains, octopus, and calamari tasted old and dry (no way they were fresh, tasted as if they were a few days old and reheated). That was a disappointment mainly. The buffet is supposed to be the strong point, not the weak one.
The sushi would have been good, if the rice was fresh. Very first sushi I have ever had where the rice tasted really dry and once again, old and not fresh. With rice being cheap, sushi rice should be the number one fresh thing. But, it was not as bad as the buffet
The hot pot was the best part of this deal. All the uncooked pieces were fresh, and the broth tasted decent. The restaurant also has a sauce section with many choices. If they just did hot pot and made that part better, maybe the place would do better. But, I was the only one using the hot pot. No one else touched that area.
Now, the atmosphere. Huge place, very nice. No customers. Or very very few customers. Seems strange for a place with a lot of choices. But the main thing is price, as buffets are supposed to offer value as well as options.
The total cost was almost $70 dollars for two people. They now charge 15% mandatory tip, where a few months ago people complained it was 12%. Nope, they heard your complaints and raised it to 15%.
They have no menu, and the waiter was the worst. When we asked for drinks, they said they carried soda and the beer menu was on the table. They never mentioned they had Ramune, which I would have gotten if they mentioned it. I got raspberry tea, which they charged $3.00 for, which is the most I have ever paid for iced tea ever.
Overall a disappointment, and I am not surprised such a huge and nice looking place has almost no customers. And this was around dinner time by the way, at 5pm! That is when a restaurant in Cleveland should be getting busy.
Would not recommend....based on the price and value. There was another Buffet across the street called Fuji that I might...
Read moreDo not waste your money here. My son and I use to go often before covid and the food use to be fresh and delicious. He wanted to have Dinner here for his 13th Birthday. Two other guess tagged along with us. One guess didn’t eat anything because the food didn’t look fresh so he just drank half of a soda. My niece literally just ate a piece of sushi, a slice of lemon, a block of jello, and a bite of lo mein noodles along with her drink. She loves chicken and fries she didn’t even bother to eat it because it didn’t look fresh.I am not over exaggerating at all you guys and I don’t even write reviews. I didn’t even drink my sweet tea because it didn’t taste right. All I ate was couple bites of steak bites and 4 pieces of sushi. All the food was cold. It wasn’t fresh at all. My son only ate the sushi. Nothing in the buffet really looked worth eating. We went for dinner so I was charged for the seafood buffet. I asked could I at least get a discount because I have a seafood allergy and they said no so I just sucked it for my sons birthday and they do have a bigger selection of seafood but you guys I am not kidding the seafood looked dirty! The deep fried seafood items looked like they were carried over from lunch time. Everything sits under hot steamers so I don’t understand why was my food still cold. Now I have stopped by maybe once or twice this year for takeout then once i get home the food had to be reheated but I didn’t think if I dine in the food would be cold. I’m like let me give it a shot my baby really wanted to go for his birthday. I was charged 70 dollars for everything and it wasn’t even worth it. I could’ve went to Fuji buffet across the street or Wassabi’s and really...
Read morefirst impression walking it. a clean environment well decorated. it was 4pm so dinner was being stocked. there were such a large variety of foods i love so i was extremely excited to dive in. first words out of my servers mouth was "you sure you want dinner here? it's very expensive."....my family did Not by any means look homeless so I viewed this kind of as an insult but I figured perhaps there was a mess up in communication and he didnt mean it the way it came out. we are here to spend good money on quality food. I tried to try a small bite of everything to really get a feel for the place. basically my whole families plates looked like sample trays at Sam's club . 95 percent of the things we had gotten were terrible. the sushi was Not by any means fresh, the halfs of fried crab were impossible to eat. we went up several times to find something we actually did like...and it felt like we were never going to be satisfied. we really strived to try and like the food but majority of it tasted old or poorly prepared. fried calmari is not supposed to be soggy dough covered squid, egg rolls are supposed to be crunchy not rubbery and hard to bite into and clams should not have the texture of straight SAND. the spicy octopus and shrimp were good but thats quite literally the only things we found palatable. our waiter was very helpful but if you just aren't crazy about the way the food is prepared there really isn't a whole lot the server can do. he was very good at keeping our drinks refilled and keeping our table cleaned off. he was very attentive so the service turned out to be very good but sadly we will never come back because of poor food...
