Mama Marie’s Ukrainian Kitchen — Restaurant in Parma

Authentic, authentic, authentic! This small, but not to be missed, restaurant is truly a Cleveland gem and nod to our continued ethnic heritage. The owners arecthe same as the butcher shop next door, so you know everything is fresh. The place is small (3 booths), but I felt as if I was sitting in a friend's kitchen. The staff talking in their native language, a Ukranian (?) Radio station on, the knickknacks all over the room. I loved it! As it was my first time, I wanted to try as many things as possible. Not a problem! The ladies took the time to describe everything, made up smaller plates, and even cooked items fresh. Everything was delicious; potato pancakes, Ukrainian cabbage salad, stuffed cabbage, cabbage and noodles, sauerkraut and sausage, and a meat pie (cheboureki ?). Wow!! Very nostalgic for us. I haven’t had Ukrainian food like this since my Babas. Really appreciate the quality and service. We shared the food with the whole family, and they all agreed just like babas. We can’t wait to go back. The ladies who waited on us were the nicest, wonderful service. We came in 30 min before they closed, but we got plenty of pierogi (frozen and hot) and the potato pancakes. Tried the meat pies also, thanks to the ladies for that!! We would have bought even more but our cooler is only so big. Can’t wait to come back and try the borscht and kielbasa. Also a must is the pierogi and potato pancakes. What a gem in CLE. Absolutely loved the food. Love the vibe. Nothing fancy but the place is kitschy. Food is wonderful. Definitely recommend the schnitzel and potato pancakes as well as the kraut and the sauerkraut soup. Nothing was bad. The ho mustard was great with the pancake and schnitzel. We were actually next door buying meats and asked where there was good food to eat and nobody told us there was a restaurant next door.
