I recently visited A2B in Parsippany with a group of 12, and while the food had its moments, the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
First Impressions: Right from the start, the tall manager at the front left a bad impression. When I tried to be considerate by letting him know a car in the lot had its door open, he bluntly replied, “That’s not my responsibility, and I don’t care.” Not exactly the kind of hospitality you expect. He also refused to seat us until our entire group had arrived, which felt unnecessarily rigid and set a frustrating tone for the evening.
Service Highlights and Lowlights: Thankfully, our server Abdul was a bright spot in the evening. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful, guiding our table through the menu – a real asset when you’re dealing with a mix of picky eaters. Abdul clearly knew the menu inside out, and his recommendations were spot on.
The busser also did an excellent job, staying attentive throughout the meal and ensuring our table was well cared for. It’s clear he takes pride in his work, which was much appreciated.
However, the food runners seemed completely lost. They had no idea what they were bringing to the table, which is a big problem when you’ve got kids’ meals, spicy dishes for adults, and Jain options, each requiring specific attention. This lack of organization and care really took away from the overall dining experience.
Food Service Chaos: When our food finally started arriving, it came in two waves, which was fine, but then things took a surprising turn. They accidentally brought someone else’s food to our table, and before we realized it, my daughter had already grabbed a piece. Instead of correcting the mistake, the staff took the food back and served it to another table. That’s a major red flag for food safety and hygiene – a shocking oversight for a place that should know better.
Final Thoughts: Overall, the food itself tasted good, and Abdul’s attentive service, along with the excellent work from the busser, were definite highlights. However, the service issues and, more importantly, the serious hygiene lapse of serving touched food to another table are too significant to ignore. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste, and we won’t...

I’ve been going to this restaurant since it’s opening in this location. Very frequently ever since.
Taste has never changed a bit, very consistent. Restaurant is clean and tidy as always and looks new even after 6 years. —— I’ve visited A2B Parsippany today (03/10/2019) after a month of its opening. After having visited A2B South Plainfield I must say this is quiet a big restaurant with more number of tables. It has a wide range of seatings like two seat table and four & six seating tables.
There is one manager and close to 10 staffs (not exact count), I got my order so quick during a peak lunch hour on a busy day which is great!
I’d South Indian meals for lunch and the taste was excellent!
Talking about staffs service, it was not as expected. I tried calling several staffs to order additional rice but after ten mins of wait in mod of my lunch I managed to catch hold of someone. There is no dedicated staffs per certain tables.
I was asked to take a seat next to a table which has already eaten plates and glasses, I refused and switched table. I don’t expect it to be next to anyone who comes to have a meal.
One trick with the meals is - rice bowl 🍚 will look like it has more food, BUT it’ll not have enough food for a meal. Bottom of the vessel is concave so rice quantity will look more but it’s a trick to make you order extra rice, which you can’t have fully and it will be wasted if you’re alone, it’ll be sufficient for two people.
Rest room and hand wash are kept separately which is good. But the sink is not good for an Indian restaurant.
Parking lot is good. They’ve a lot of spaces for parking in front, side and backside of the restaurant. Don’t try to open the door from backside of parking, it’s an emergency door WITHOUT the emergency door sign.
Overall, excellent place to have a tasty food. Nice ambience. Not so attentive staffs. Clean restrooms. Ample of...
Read moreThis is a popular local spot known for its Dosas, a traditional South Indian dish. Dosas are savory, crepe-like pancakes that come with a variety of fillings, from plain cheese to spicy potato that comes with a side of gravies and sauces. You can choose between a thin, crispy version or a thicker, doughier one, depending on your preference.
The ambiance is pleasant, with a soothing waterfall feature. However, during peak hours (especially Friday nights), the place tends to get quite busy, with a line out the door and a full parking lot.
My first experience with this place was through pickup orders over a few weekends. Each time, I struggled to find parking, but the food was so worth it, especially for my sick mom, so I kept returning until we eventually switched to DoorDash deliveries. The Rava Dosa was my mom’s comfort food when she was struggling to hold food down (colitis). So there were plenty of take out orders here until she pulled through.
Although parking was still tight and there was a brief wait, our small group of three was seated within 10 minutes. Once we ordered, the food came out surprisingly fast, considering how packed the place was. We were in and out within 30-40 minutes.
Last night with friends was also the first time I dined in. We ordered a variety of dishes, from biryani to malai kofta. Despite the restaurant being known for its Dosas, no one in our group ordered one, but I was impressed by how flavorful everything was. The dishes weren’t overly greasy, were well-marinated, and beautifully presented.
Our server, Neha, was attentive and made sure to check in on us and our food & water levels throughout the meal which was nice.
While parking is plentiful it can be a challenge.. I can see why this place is so popular. The food is delicious, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for Indian or vegetarian dishes.
