I would leave a Zero star if I could. The food is not good for the price.Wastage of $64 (for 2persons).feeling cheated. Don’t waste your time and money. I went for Sunday Buffet.I called them to reserve table and when I went there, they charged me $64 for 2persons’s buffet.Normal charge for Sunday buffet is around $22 / person. They suddenly increased the Buffet Price to $30/person for father’s day (2023) and didn’t mentioned about it when I called them for reservations! I asked them multiple times at the time of reservation about the buffet menu but they didn’t mentioned anything.
Food- Veg Appetizers was ok type. Menu- panipuri, dahivalla, samosa chaat( didn’t found samosa), Mirchi pakora
Non Veg appetizers- 3types of chicken kebab( hariyali, malai and tikka)- they mixed all the kebabs in a single bowl , I found all are almost same taste. Hariyali and tikka was the worst.I asked multiple times to the manager to refill, it took 10-15mins! small fish fry( doesn’t looks like a fish fry) another chicken dish was there( forgot the name) - Initially I found it better than the other appetizers but later when they refilled with newly cooked food , I think they changed the recipe!!!!! Wings- not good
Main-
Non Veg Chicken biriyani- doesn’t taste like biriyani. Goat curry- Goat was not cooked properly. I got the goaty smell as well!!! Bengali Style fish curry- Don’t what they have cooked, it’s a kind of smashed fish in red Indian gravy.I didn’t liked it.
In vegeterian- They had rice, daal, naan, okra(bhindi), cauliflower, mushrooms and babe corn and one paneer dish I only liked the taste of Bhindi. Salad - was not fresh
Worst part is the Dessert- they had only Kheer, Gajar Halwa, Mango mousse and fruits. No ice cream or any other Indian dessert!you have to pay extra for this.
Service- Long wait time to get the buffet refills.sometimes you have to ask the manager to get it refilled.
Not sure how they justify the $30 buffet price .
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for buffet.
You can try nearby Tandoori Flames.I liked their food and price is reasonable as well. They have buffet for $19/person( pls...
Read moreUpdated review: What initially felt like a delightful discovery at our first visit to Jashan by Dhaba turned out to be quite disappointing the second time around. Unfortunately, the quality just didn’t hold up.
Almost every dish was a hit or miss. The mushroom malai tikka, which we were excited to try, was bland and sat in a pool of watery cream, completely devoid of flavor. Soya chap was reheated and had just spices no flavors. The paneer gravy was another letdown, overly oily and excessively spicy, to the point that it left us with upset stomachs afterward.
It’s clear that they really need to work on maintaining consistent standards. What once felt promising now makes us hesitant to return, which is truly unfortunate for a place we had hoped to frequent.
Stepping into Jashan by Dhaba feels like being instantly transported to a vibrant Indian restaurant somewhere back home. From the ambience to the familiar aromas, the vibe is comfortingly desi. The menu is impressively vast, each page filled with tempting dishes that make it hard to choose just one. We began with the Pahadi Soya Chaap, a bold choice our server rightfully warned us about in terms of spice. It was fiery, flavorful, and absolutely phenomenal. The Paneer Bulandi Tikka followed, served sizzling hot on a plate, and didn’t disappoint. The portion sizes were generous, making it great for sharing. The soups, on the other hand, didn’t quite hit the mark for us. They felt a bit underwhelming on their own but could work with a dash of seasoning.
For the mains, we went with the Handi Daal Jashan, and it turned out to be the highlight of the meal. Creamy, rich, and packed with flavor, this was one of the best renditions of dal makhni we have had in a long time. We ended our meal with a sweet paan, which was a refreshing, nostalgic finale to an already satisfying meal.
A couple of things could have been better- the starters arrived before the soup, and a few items seemed reheated rather than freshly made. But overall, the warmth of the staff, the robust flavors, and the hearty Indian fare made this a meal...
Read moreBuffet Update: Jashan's staff is friendly and welcoming. The place is popular and busy, so you may have to wait for up to 10 minutes. The buffet offers a variety of dishes for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and everything was tasty, including the appetizers and desserts. However, I didn't like the Pani Puri (Puri) at all; it was very disappointing. The naan also didn't appeal to me as it felt like the ready-made kind you get from an Indian grocery store. On a positive note, the mango mousse dessert was very tasty. Don't come near buffet closing specially after 3 pm food refills will close around 3.15pm.
It seems the buffet cost has increased compared to 7 months ago. The approximate cost for adults is $24 + tax, and for kids above 3 years old, it's 50% of the adult price, around $12 + gratuity, which is 18% of the total bill. Personally fill It doesn't make sense to charge kids aged 3-5 years 50% of the adult price, especially since they hardly eat anything. Additionally, when a minimum 18% gratuity is added, it further questions the fairness of charging young between 3-5, anyways no one forcing you to come.
Pickup Order from 7 Months Ago:
After a friend's recommendation, I placed a pickup order at Jashan for a birthday party for 20-25 people. We ordered samosas, chicken biryani, gulab jamun, and veg Manchurian semi-gravy. All the food was packed properly and delivered on time. The owner initially suggested the Mini Deep Tray Biryani for 20 people, but after seeing its size, we requested an upgrade to the half-size tray, priced at $120. The owner agreed and provided the larger biryani tray, which was so tasty that it was finished quickly.
There is plenty of free parking space, and the restrooms are clean. Wi-Fi is available for guests, but I didn't see the password...
