"Disastrous Dining Experience: A Nightmare at Vaishnav Thali"
Review: I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Vaishnav Thali, and it was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this was going to be a regrettable evening.
Firstly, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed completely disinterested and unresponsive to our needs. We had to wait an eternity just to get a menu, and even longer for someone to take our order. It was clear that they were understaffed and overwhelmed, but that's no excuse for such poor service.
When our food finally arrived, it was a complete letdown. The presentation was lackluster, and the dishes looked nothing like the appetizing pictures on the menu. As for the taste, it was simply horrendous. The flavors were bland and uninspired, as if they had been sitting out for hours before being served. It was clear that no effort was put into the preparation or the quality of ingredients.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was dirty and unkempt. The tables were sticky, the floors were filthy, and the overall ambiance was unpleasant. It was as if cleanliness and hygiene were foreign concepts to the staff.
Lastly, the prices were exorbitant considering the low-quality experience we endured. We paid a premium for what was supposed to be a fine dining experience, but instead, we got a subpar meal and terrible service.
Overall, my visit to Vaishnav Thali was an absolute nightmare. From the terrible service and tasteless food to the dirty environment and inflated prices, there was nothing redeeming about this establishment. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining here to look elsewhere for a satisfying and enjoyable...
Read moreI had an extremely unpleasant experience at this place. I ordered food and had to wait a shocking 2.5 hours for it. When I politely enquired about the delay, the staff member rudely responded, "If you can wait, fine. If not, you can leave." I was stunned by her lack of professionalism, but what happened next was even worse. She walked into the kitchen and made a loud, rude comment about me—intentionally ensuring I could hear it.
When I confronted her about this disrespectful behavior, she unapologetically told me that despite the long delay, I would have to wait however long it took, regardless. At that point, another staff member, an older lady, came out and started justifying the delay by saying they were working on larger orders for over 10 hours. I understand being busy, but there's no excuse for treating customers so poorly.
Instead of offering to cancel my order if they were busy or even apologizing for the delay, the staff acted bizarrely unprofessional. It was a shocking display of rudeness and complete disregard for customer service. I would never return to this...
Read moreDid we drive over an hour to get to this humble place for food? You best believe we did and we were not disappointed! The small intimate no frills restaurant reminded me of home instantly. As we walked in the sweetest woman hand-making fresh laddus asked "order che?" While I don't know a word of Gujarati- I was instantly reminded of my grandmother's kitchen. We ordered the Vaishnav thaali which itself was so beautifully arranged that I felt bad digging into it. The food was fresh and most obviously the best vegetarian Indian food I have had in New York or New Jersey. The poori and rotis were freshly made, piping hot and smothered in ghee. The vegetables were low on oil and simply spiced- truly letting the vegetables shine. The daal was comfort food and the aloo tikki had the perfect crunch on the outside and softness on the inside.
I cannot recommend this place enough- we packed up some food for the week and headed home, stomaches full and...
