The restaurant is a small place, kind of ok looking. A bit in the colder side in looks, doesn't feel warm and welcome. But the food is good. I usually do take out from the restaurant. A week ago I decided to go and eat in the restaurant so my food comes out hot and I don't have to heat it up at home. The chicken kabab and the kubiedah Kabab was ok, the white rice a bit cold. The tomato and the green pepper burnt to ashes. The waiter who was bringing our food was a bit busy chatting with a friend by the register. One side order of salad two entrees and two drinks and an appetizer. After she brought the appetizer and the entrees, She kept chatting with her friend. We asked her if we could please have the sauces the serve with the food. She ran and brought the spicy sauce. Then we asked you have white sauce also right ? She gave us a dirty look and rolled her eyes and brought 3 large containers of the white sauce. It was weird. And ran back to her friend as we felt that we disturbed her. Then when were paying she charged us for 2 full salads (which we didn't get at all) and she a she added 18% tip for her self. We looked at her face we paid it but never going back to this restaurant again. Bad service very greedy to add 18% on a table of 2 and to be honest a thief also. I wish I took a picture of the 3 large white sauce containers that she put on our table. Not going to you again.
Add on after the restaurant replied: I was talking about your server, doesn’t matter how good your food is or how fresh you make it, if your server charges us extra and adds her own tip of 18% for table of two which no one does that and acts annoyed at the customer, no one would like to come to you. I paid for things I didn’t get and tip is optional depending on service. I wonder how many others have been in this situation in your restaurant but they choose not to say anything and never came back to you...
Read moreWe were visiting the area and we prefer to eat at local restaurants, especially when we travel. A search of the area included Rayhoon. We love Persian food so we decided to check them out. We were not disappointed in the least!
I wanted to try something that I hadn't seen on the menu at the place we frequent at home so I ordered the gheymeh-bademjan (a split pea stew with roasted eggplant and lamb). It was delicious! The lamb was so tender, it just fell apart when my spoon touched it. The tomato base had a lemony touch to it which helped keep it from tasting too rich. It's usually served with rice which I cannot eat but I can only imagine how perfect that combination would have been. They kindly substituted a salad for the rice which was perfect for me.
My fiance chose the beef soltani kabob platter which had two kabobs - one beef tenderloin and one a ground beef and lamb combination - rice, and a roasted tomato. He absolutely DEVOURED his food! I had to take a taste of each kabob myself and, as much as I enjoyed my meal, I almost wished I had ordered the same. The tenderloin was flavorful and juicy but I was surprised at how amazing the groundvbeef/lamb one was! Juicy and seasoned perfectly, it was our favorite.
We did arrive later in the evening (around 7:00-7:30) and while still busy, we were able to be seated right away. They have a pretty small dining area so it was a surprise that we didn't have to wait. After walking in and catching a whiff of the food, we would've happily done so. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They answered all my questions and truly made us feel welcome. We both would highly recommend Rayhoon to anyone...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came in on a Friday night for outdoor dining, and were able to get seated right away. I'm not sure if they've always had outdoor dining, but they've definitely done a good job with the space that they have outside. They have set up a wedding-type tent with some picnic tables and decorated with flowers which I think is a pretty cool vibe.
For our appetizers, we started out with hummus and stuffed grape leaves, both of which were really good. They also came with some super warm and crispy bread, perfect for dipping into the hummus. As my main course, I got the falafel platter, which comes with six falafels, a grilled tomato, salad and a lot of rice. I definitely wasn't able to finish all of the rice, but scarfed down all of the falafels! I'm very picky about falafel, and I would say that there's was definitely on the better side. I prefer them to have a crispy layer on the inside but still be soft and flavorful on the inside, which they definitely have accomplished here.
They have this really good hot sauce which is insanely spicy, but if you just put a little bit into the yogurt sauce, it is DIVINE. Make sure you ask for it if they don't already give it to you automatically. My fiancé got the chicken kebab sandwich; I had a bite and the chicken was definitely on point though the wrap itself was...
