5 POT offers a deliciously satisfying, fully customizable, bowl of hotpot style soup! I've never seen this type of hotpot before. Their website calls it "customizable mini hot pot."
Each customer fills their own bowl from the buffet of dozens of classic hotpot ingredients. They offer a choice of one of three soup bases (original, bone broth, or tomato) and charge 14.99 per pound. They weigh your ingredients at the register and take your bowl back to the kitchen to be prepared. On the way back to your table you make your own little bowl of dipping sauce at the buffet. After just a few minutes a huge bowl of soup is delivered right to you.
I chose the bone broth and my wife had the original. I was really happy with my choice. It brought a smile to my face and I chuckled with food joy as I took my first sip of the rich creamy broth. I went with mainly noodles and beef. My wife chose seafood and more vegetables than I had. We were both delighted with our personalized hotpot style soup!
As of writing this review 5 POT is still in it's soft open and has only been open for 13 days. We were part of a large group for our friend's 30th birthday and in spite of this the service was fast and very friendly. That's a good sign for the future of the quality of service here. It gets an A+ from me.

Read moreWow! I love this place! You walk in, grab a bowl and rings and go down the line picking the items you want in your personalized hot pot. They have a nice selection of veggies, meats, fish and noodles. Bring it to the counter, choose your broth and they will take it back and make it for you. Meanwhile, you can make your own dipping sauce and enjoy a glass of iced tea with free refills. It's included with your hot pot! Everything was fresh and delicious! I loved all the flavors. Located on Colorado across from Target and Total Wine and More, it's a great addition to the neighborhood! Makes a fun, inexpensive date night or a great gathering for friends. Perfect place to eat before a movie at the Academy or Landmark theaters. I know...
Read moreNice small hot pot buffet styles selections of self customize items and about 4 to 5 choices of base for the soup. I recommend original (mild spicy although not spicy at all) and the ice tea self served is pretty decent, the mushrooms, fish balls, and veggies are yummy, if you like it cooked til its quite soft. I prefer a little crunch to my vegetables not that mushy for me. Very friendly service and overall a nice spot to try. The portion size are very fulfilling and massive at about $15.99 I believe, a bit pricey than other hot pot spots. It's Pasadena so mostly paid parking unless you park across the street in free lot near Target or some street parking that are 1 or...
