**Update 8/30/21 Our new family favorite. The Wor Wonton soup Is delicious . When your in the mood for soup this is the order. The flavor of the broth is like no other. Enjoy We have been looking for a good old fashioned Chinese restaurant like the ones we used to eat at when we were growing up. Those of you who grew up in Boyle Heights and East LA might remember the New Formosa café before the owners closed up shop in early 2000’s. Then Paul’s Kitchen in Monterey Park. They closed maybe 10yrs or less ago. I grew up with their delicious dishes. Now in San Gabriel Valley you think I could find at least an average Chinese restaurant well we haven’t. Today I went to Google to find a well rated Chinese restaurant. We discovered Grandview Palace. It’s rated 4.3 Stars of 5. Well let me bend your ear for a bit. The food here is DELICIOUS!! My family just loved it. We definitely will be ordering from here again. I usually don’t eat or enjoy the Mongolian beef that my husband and son love. Let me tell you I couldn’t avoid tasting the dish. It was so good I made sure to serve some on my plate. We got a little bit of everything so that we can gage the taste of everything that I know my family likes. I should say Loves!! The Lo Mein was just as delicious but when it came to the Egg Foo Young OMG, we finally had some that tasted like what we ate before at the other restaurants that no longer exist. I have included pics of the dishes but we couldn’t hold off eating the food before all of the pics were taken. Don’t let me forget to tell you that the pork egg rolls were the bomb. I'm so glad for all those of you who rated this restaurant so well so that I could try it. ...

This restaurant isn't like those generic Chinese "take outs" that are quite common place nor part of a large franchise i.e. Panada Express, quite the opposite. However, I haven't been here recently, but I'll have that nostalgic memory when I ate here a few months ago. I particularly remember when I've ordered spicy orange chicken, brown rice, and oolong tea as I've sat alone that evening. The server was generous enough to offer the tea, free of charge and the meal was quite afforable, just under $10. Exceptional service all throughout and worthy of responding with a tip to express gratitudity. Interestingly enough, that was the first time I've had oolong tea and ever since then, I reserve it as a special treat. One last point, the serving portions are sizable and meant to be shared if you're dining with another person. In fact, despite the fact I live quite the distance from Pasadena, I'll stop by here soon and...
Read moreThis is one of the hidden gems in Pasadena. Love this place a lot. We came here often, but sadly we moved out of the area. This is classic American style Chinese food done right. The service is so great. We became fast friends with the workers there. You get seated fast and your food comes in fresh. Our all time favorite is the orange chicken with real pieces of orange, bbq fried rice, wor wonton soup, and the crispy rice chicken soup. When it’s too crowded at other big restaurants with a wait time of 2 hours you can always count on this place to seat you right away. We even booked this place for my son’s 2nd birthday. They really made his birthday special. Thank you so much. When we come back to Pasadena we will definitely stop by and eat. Definitely don’t sleep on this place and order the Grandview special chicken for a peppery spicy kick that...
