I love tea parties and have been to various places. I've been here twice now with my mom and sister. Both times I called them directly to make a reservation. We park in the parking structure on the south side Union St (one way street going west) and just walk across the street.
The interior is cute with a piano inside and they have lights and decorations everywhere, teapots and other things for sale inside.
Both times the three of us have ordered their Tea Rose Afternoon Tray (Tea Sandwiches, Salad, Scone, Small Desserts, and Tea Pot).
The second time we had our niece with us and we got her the Children's Afternoon Tea. Instead of picking one of their Children's Tea Sandwiches (Peanut Butter & Jelly, Raspberry & Cream Cheese or Strawberry Nutella), she wanted a ham & cheese, but they charged extra for that. It was just past Christmas time and they still had all their Christmas décor up at the time. She got a hot chocolate as her beverage. The total we paid for my 4 year old niece ended up being the same as the adult price.
One of the negatives about this place is how small their tables are. Both times, they've put us at a small square table and there is hardly any room for all the plates, tea pots, and trays. Customer service is friendly, but very slow when we needed to ask for things like extra napkin or wanted to order another salad, or wanted the bill. The food itself is okay.
My husband wanted to join the fun so I've taken him to Afternoon Tea twice at another establishment closer to our house. Wow it just blew this place out of the water, the food, the soup, the desserts (which is made in-house). So overall, would I come here again? Maybe.... Pasadena is where our mom lives and it's in the middle between where my sister and I live. However, we've had much better experiences at other places.

Read moreMy mother and I went to the Tea Rose Garden for the Christmas Tea. The location was adorable - an indoor garden setting with water fountain, rose trellis, hedges and a gazebo where a bridal shower was occurring. The place was all trussed up for Christmas and was very festive.
The three layered tea tray came with butternut squash soup - thick and spiced like a sweet potato pie Petal salad - just spring greens with a vinaigrette 2 baked ham, brie and cranberry tea sandwich 2 chicken almond tea sandwich 2 goat cheese and sun dried tomato tea sandwich 1 mini shepards pie 1 lemon raspberry scone with clotted cream and raspberry jam. fresh fruit 1 petit four red velvet, gingerbread and peppermint macaroons eggnog mousse cake a pot of Christmas blend black tea which we resteeped twice about 40$ for both of us
Service was a bit slow and frazzeled but very pleasant. The food was mostly unremarkable, not bad but not great. We both very much enjoyed the red velvet macaroon, the butternut squash soup, the baked ham and brie sandwich, and found the scone amazingly moist and tasty. Everything else was uneventful.
Many of the items there were only one of so you had to share, which is no problem as my mother and I are happy to share food but something to be aware of for those who might not.
The teabag (tsac) was left in the teapot, leading to oversteeping if you aren't careful. this is becoming a peeve of mine in afternoon teas. Please steep the tea properly, or bring out a timer and dish and tongs to remove the tea!
I forgot to note what the christmas tea was spice with, but it mainly came out cardamom, but was enjoyable.
We had to go to the register to pay, it was a little awkward as no one said anything and perhaps we should have...
Read moreMy friend treated me for my birthday and took me here for a lovely brunch time. As soon as I walked in I was in awe! The way this place is decorated reminded me of a little cafe I went to in Florence. It is gorgeous!! Flowers and greenery everywhere! The little gift shop area they have by the register is so cute and thoughtful. We sat down and shortly after a young gentleman man came over and took out drink orders, some iced teas. My friend did all the ordering since she had been there before. We got the Earl Grey Lavender Tea. We got the Tea Rose Afternoon Tea package. She ordered the chicken cranberry, cucumber mint, and sun-dried tomato sandwiches as tea time sandwich. We also ordered the Italian Rose and Tomato Basil sandwich. Not long after our iced teas came out and they were so cute. They had mini flower petals on them which came them a nice touch. Then out sandwich tear came out with the mini sandwich on them along with the lemon raspberry scone, fruits and other desserts. And to follow our main sandwiches game out. It was all delicious!! The mini sandwiches were extremely flavorful and tasty. The scone was my favorite along with the passion fruit iced tea. The main tea was delicious as well. The lavender flavor really came out. My only problem we that their tea cups were all chipped and the plates were cracked. I hope they change them before someone hurts them and becomes a problem. But over all it was such a lovely afternoon and amazing girl bonding time. I will definitely...
