If you want a delicious bowl of affordable ramen with flavors deep and delicious enough to rival any high-end down town restaurant, this place is the first one is recommend. The inside is a little unassuming, but the main counter is fashioned to look like a cute old fashioned Japanese ramen stand. The service is friendly and you can tell the the family/friends that run the restaurant really care about the quality of their dishes. The karaage is paired with a delightful slightly lemony aioli and is so tender and crisp, you'll want to come back just to have the appetizer. It's a small menu, comprised mainly of ramen or rice dishes, I've personally only had the ramen (since it's in the name). If you like spice but want to control how much, get the popular ramen tonkatsu and use the house made garlicky red chili paste to bring you to a completely new tell of yummm. I swear I would buy 3 bottles of that chili paste at a time if they ever...
Read moreA small shop set up in the small plaza, I came here on a Thursday evening, the store is not large enough to fill, the bathroom in the kitchen is a little inconvenient but understandable, if it is a weekend recommended to call to reserve a seat. I ordered Karaage and Tonkotsu Char Siew ramen, the price of 20+ is very reasonable. The food is not authentic, and visitors who want to eat authentic Japanese ramen may be disappointed, but the restaurant still stands out. They make their own soup and chicken, the ramen comes with a whole egg instead of half, the chicken is fresh from the redness, the recipe is distinctly Taiwanese salt crispy chicken, and the ramen, if not authentic, is also topped with red ginger (which is unusual in the United States). They try to restore the Japanese flavor and work hard for this, the shop is very warm, the staff treat children very gentle when the children come, I get a full mark for this mind,...
Read moreI never would've tried a place like this had it not been for Yelp reviews. Some nondescript tiny restaurant in an crowded little plaza in an area of Pasadena I never hang around. Pretty cool. Thank you, Yelpers!
We got several bowls of the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen with Premium Chashu as well as the Teriyaki Minchi Rice. As much as I love ramen (one of my favorite foods to eat), the flavors of the Teriyaki Minchi Rice easily rivaled their noodles. The soft boiled egg was perfection.
Everything was excellent. Cheap prices, generous portions. Fantastic food. Ramen was just amazing. Service was fantastic. A friend asked me for suggestions on where to take her aunt and niece who love ramen, so I suggested this place and she could not stopping raving about it afterward. She said that the service really stood out and that the food was impressively large and delicious. Easily one of the best ramen...
