Had food here with a few friends. We shared an assortment of sandwhiches, some brisket, and sausages. The meats were really high quality BBQ and I was impressed with how deep the flavor was in the brisket, but it was the sandwhiches that really blew me away. I had half a Smokers Club and half a Smokey Cuban. Both sandwhiches were really put together.
For the Smokers Club, all the meat, bacon fried tomato worked together way better than I thought it would. The texas toast was a crusty sliced bread, that held the sandwhich together really well. I normally like a little bit more bread in my meat to bread ratio. But this bread held up well under the weight of all the toppings.
The Cuban- This is the forth Cuban sandwhich I'd eaten this week. I had a medianoche and a cubano from Porto's on Tuesday, Saturday, the day before I had the Cuban at Merengue in Monrovia.
I'd rank them them Smokehouse (9), Merengue (8), Portos (7.5). Although the Smokehouse wasn't a true traditional Cuban and I'm sure I'm upsetting people by claiming a Cuban sandwhich made by non Cubans is offensive, But it was a really good sandwhich. And the thing that really made it sing is that the meats were more tender.
Sometimes the slow cooked meats at Portos and Merengue, get dried out and they make up for it by adding more mayo, butter, and sauce.
Well, this bbq house specialized in moist tender meats. And you can taste and feel the difference right away.
I'm not a big BBQ guy, but I will be back for the...
Read moreWe just love Smokehouse Social BBQ. It is a drive for us out in Pasadena, but it is worth it. They have all types of BBQ, from Carolina to Texas style and more. There is something there for everyone, unless you are a vegan, than I would go elsewhere.
The place is pretty and ever so clean. They go out of their way to maintain it. When you walk in you can smell the wonders of BBQ. They have a great menu and a full bar.
The service is friendly and pretty fast. It can get crowded so make a reservation if they allow that (call them). We go on off hours and have never waited more than 10 minutes. But it is popular.
Your server can help you with the menu and you can ask for certain things mild or so spicy you will need Tums. Just let them know.
They also have great salads and their sides are the best. You can get it take away if you want.
We love their Smokehouse sandwich which comes on sourdough with 1/2 brisket, provolone and chimichurri. Their Smokey Cuban has pulled pork, maple smoked ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, all on a roll.
For sides we love their Mac & Cheese, their brisket chili and their loaded baked potatoes are a meal alone. You can add brisket, pork or chicken to any baked potato.
You will just love this place and you can take home and entire brisket...
Read moreWas excited to try this new bbq place close to our home. All I can say is we were beyond disappointed.
Food: The prices are outrageous. $18 for 6 ribs with no sides included. We ordered an 8oz of coleslaw for $6 and a 8oz mac and cheese for $8. The ribs and bbq sauce were very good and we did enjoy the coleslaw. The mac and cheese was horrendous, I would prefer something out of a box. For $8, i would not expect something so greasy and lacking flavor.
Service: We were welcomed as we came in and the staff member told us about popular items. You are expected to get your food from the pick up area and buss your table. For the price of the food, I would not expect to have to do that. We were excited to come watch a game on their TVs. The staff member was not initially willing to help us pull up the game we were looking to watch which was frustrating.
Such a shame, we were looking forward to potentially having a fun new place to grabs food/drinks and watch a game. If this place doesn’t adjust their pricing. i don’t see...
