I’ve been here a couple of times. The drinks, food & ambience are great! This place deserves more recognition. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the two bartenders that I encountered this time around. They were rude, didn’t seem to communicate with one another to take care of orders, demonstrated poor service and negative attitude, and they seemed to display these mannerisms with all customers that evening during my time there. One of my friends had requested angosturas for her old fashioned that she paid for and was asked to come back to the bar in 10min for her drink by one of the bartenders who was male. She did so without hesitation and understood that she needed to wait for the angostura. But when she returned back to the bar, she didn’t get the angostura with her drink. The bartender who she’d initially ordered from was nowhere to be seen so she asked the other bartender, who was female, about her drink. This bartender rudely said she didn’t know anything about angosturas or what her coworker had promised and that she wasn’t going to give out “free alcohol.” My friend didn’t want to exert energy on that situation and walked away with the incomplete old fashioned she had purchased 10min ago from the other bartender. Perhaps the bartenders working this particular night need to re-evaluate their occupation or receive adequate customer and social skills — or more importantly how to make a complete old fashioned. However, the waiters/servers provided great service and were friendly! Will go again, but hopefully those bartenders won’t be...
Read moreWasn't sure what to expect walking down the dimly lit hallway... But there was light at the end of the tunnel... along with music... and amazing cocktails... and yummy food... and a 2nd bar room with pinball & shuffleboard... and a fabulous patio (even if it is missing a view of something other than the alley)! Soooo much to enjoy here!
We grabbed a spot on the patio, looked up the menu online, ordered at the bar, and soaked it all in! Yes, the food menu is a tad limited... But what we did try was gooood (Bernie G. you were right)! Drinks were STRONG and delish!! Chipotle honey wings were crispy outside, juicy inside, and had just the right amount of sweet & spicy! Mac n cheese was a bit watery/runnier than I'm used to, but was still yummy! The double burger was a lot of meat to handle, that's for sure! Nothing extraordinary, but was still good! But the house made pickles - nom nom nom!!!
As evening set in and the patio lights came on, loved the ambiance even more! There are two back doors to enter from the alley/garage, TVs (which were actually playing soccer to my delight), and a nice mix of music permeating the background, but not blaring.
I'd come back just for the drinks and the patio ambiance alone, especially during these wonderful summer nights! ...
Read moreThis was our second time at KingsRow, and while the food was amazing again — wings, fries, and Philly cheesesteak were all delicious — the overall experience this visit left us disappointed. The self-ordering system with QR codes is convenient, and the servers who brought out our food and drinks were friendly and helpful. We tried several beers as a group of seven, and everything on that end was enjoyable.
However, there were two big issues. First, the lower floor had a noticeable humid/sewage smell. It wasn’t unbearable, but definitely distracting and took away from the atmosphere.
The bigger issue, though, was at the bar. My brother and a friend asked the bartender (an older gentleman) if they could order a Jägerbomb. Instead of politely explaining that it wasn’t available, he snapped and answered very rudely — basically telling them to “look at the menu” in a dismissive tone. This was especially frustrating because the bar is fully stocked, and his attitude felt unnecessary and unprofessional. It honestly ruined the vibe of the evening.
We had been looking forward to coming back and had even recommended this spot to others, but after being treated that way, we’ve decided we won’t be returning. Great food and friendly servers, but hospitality at the bar was a...
