Mako Bowl — Restaurant in Pasadena

It upsets me to have to disparage a business like that but my past few experiences have been horrendous to say the least.

Service used to be solid up until a couple of months ago.

I put in an order the phone and showed up 20 minutes later to pick up. They take my payment and just left me standing by the pick up counter. I stood there for 15 minutes and not one of the employees asked if I've been helped or anything. I finally ask how much longer and they tell me that it's been ready and set the bag on the counter top for me to grab AFTER asking and AFTER just standing there waiting.

I ask them how come no one bothered to give me my food after paying since it's been ready and I'm given a flimsy explanation of how the order took a while and it was getting cold.... not like they were placed under a heat lamp or anything like that.

I was offered no apologies or any expression of concern.

I get that it's just a job and they're not enthused about working there but that does NOT mean that they should not give a damn about doing it right.

I asked for the manager and I was told that they won't be in...

Ive been coming here over the last ~20 years for their chicken teriyaki bowl and it has maintained the same great taste throughout the years. I started going to their location across the street from PCC before they opened the one on foothill. My order is exactly the same every single time, small teriyaki chicken bowl with no sesame seeds and a side of hot sauce (it’s not hot). If I’m on my work lunch break I call in to order ahead and it’s always ready on time for pickup.

Parking is hit or miss. They share a lot with many other stores including Ralphs. Sometimes it’s quick to find parking, other times you’re waiting for someone to leave or need to park further away.

Payment: cash and credit cards.

Indoor seating available and not normally a problem to find a spot. Inside is nothing fancy but you’ll find a good meal and clean...

Had a long drive, wanted to try new place. Came in today and ordered bbq beef large size and just got to the hotel and the only thing I see is a tiny portion. Was sitting and waiting on a table the same way as other patrons then they waived at the client who was behind me with their ready orders then to the next one. Waited over 10 minutes and walked toward the cashier. He said oh ok and gave the food that was ready long time ago. I won’t come back any longer and don’t recommend others who wanna give a try. Please go to HAWAIIAN BBQ instead if you’re hungry and want to get full and satisfied with the purchase. I paid for LARGE portion but received unappetizing soggy cucumbers and not the size of bbq beef as it was...
