Taqueria las jarochas — Restaurant in Pasadena

I've eaten at Las Jarochas a few times and have really enjoyed some of their food — their empanadas and breakfast tacos are both solid, flavorful, and worth coming back for. The hot sauce is good too. They’ve definitely nailed those items, and I’d recommend them to anyone stopping by. However, I tried their tamales today (the ones wrapped in banana leaf), and unfortunately, they just weren’t for me. The texture was overly soggy, and they were covered in a sauce that reminded me of canned enchilada sauce, which didn’t do the dish any favors. What really threw me off was finding a large bone inside — especially after being told previously that they don’t contain bones. Im usually not a person who leaves reviews but I have to for this place! 1. Their food is one of the best and freshest food I’ve had at a taqueria truck! 2. You can tell the mfn food made with love and there’s actually effort that’s put in to it 3. this truck is the cleanest food truck I’ve seen since I moved down to Houston a couple months back and I can go on and on about the service!!! Very disappointed. I got the Birria Tacos. Not only were they mediocre at best, they were so expensive! $14 dollars for 4 small tacos. They were close by and I was hoping they would be bigger tacos and more flavorful.
