Vietsub & Pho — Restaurant in Pasadena

The atmosphere overall is Pleasant here. I enjoyed the P1 how special and some pork spring rolls. The sauce is okay, as far as peanut sauce goes. I think if they weigh with a garlic sauce it would probably turn out better for the spring rolls. Personal preference aside the broth here is very clean and I had also a half of a fried egg sandwich. The fried egg sandwich was actually very delicious and I highly recommend it. I'm going to come back and try some more things. The young lady that they mentioned served us, she was on her phone and excessive amount but she wasn't rude and overall was very attentive. The owner didn't seem to mind her on the phone so it shows that they have a very casual relationship. I didn't come at a busy time so I don't know how the services when they are busy. That being said, the service was attentive and quick. If you need anything all you had to do was look at her and she made eye contact immediately and came over. The restrooms are very clean which is a plus! The tables around you are also cleaned up pretty quickly so they keep what seems to be a very clean restaurant. Definitely a place with a casual vibe that delivers on food quality and price. I ordered a large Pho , an order of two spring rolls, fresh limeade, and a Vietnamese coffee to go. I only spent $18 and some change plus tip so overall under $25. I'm a big guy and I really wanted to try some things to see if I wanted to come back so I know that if I come back I may not have to spend that much depending on if my wife decides...

I just want to say that i think the food was good for what it's worth, but my first time here was not a very pleasant experience, unfortunately....

It was my first time here and a few things kinda bothered me. First, the food I wanted to order was not available till 5pm for some reason. I think it was called the Spicy Stir Fried chicken Ramen. (I don't think the start time was mentioned in the menu) Second, it took almost an HOUR to get our food. Apparently, the cooks did not get our ticket or they didn't receive it. Luckily, I spoke with one of the owners, which she was able to serve it to us in 5 min .... she was very nice and apologetic about the wait.

So yeah sorry for the long story. 😅 Unfortunately, my first experience was not a pleasant one. People were getting their foods while we waited for a long time and the server did not even bother to check up on us. I heard good things about this place, but i was very unhappy about the service. I will just have to go at another time when they have servers who will actually deliver our ticket and make sure we are being...

Spring rolls & pho weren’t too bad. Unfortunately, i found a small fly in my soup & one of my coworker found a facial hair in hers. When i asked for a fresh one to go, since i was on lunch break after waiting so long for our food, Kenny the chef immediately declined my request & said i couldn’t take it to go (I’m guessing because it was a combo). Not only did he not apologize for the inconvenience, but didn’t even try to accommodate me. I understand he was frustrated & overwhelmed since he was the only one cooking, but he was rude about it. & when my 2 other coworkers asked to cancel their orders since we were already running late back to work & it’s been well over 30 minutes of receiving their food, he came out to lecture us about calling ahead next time & giving him a heads up.
